So who here knows Sleppy Creek well enough to lead a day trip?

 

Of course!

 

we need to pick a date and time for the meet I was thinking some time in May so we have plenty of time to prepare

 

I think most of those trails are only open during hunting seasons, correct me if I'm wrong.

Maybe Big Dogs in Gore, Va.? It's a private Off-Road park, but they have several events yearly. Camping, lake, gun range. Different levels of trails from stock to "expect body damage".lol

 

Be careful with that place. Make sure you know the prices beforehand. We went to a TW meet there a couple years ago and everyone ended up getting charged an extra $60 just to get in the gate. We were also told we had "full access" to the facility which turned out to be not true as well. They were pretty much selling firewood by the stick.... That was a couple years back so maybe it's changed since then. Just throwing up a warning.

 

Were your rides guided? It's my understanding that they stopped free wheeling and it's all guided trail rides now. I had tickets last year and it was $65 for a two day event. They have rig requirements for different levels of trails which are explained on their web site. I thought this place would be good since everyone is spread out and we could camp for a couple days. IDK, you guys can check out their web site and see what you think. I'm down for wherever. But I'm definitely going to try it out this summer. They have three day events as well.

 

Crap, it was a couple years/beers back so I'm trying to remember the details. We did have a guided ride with Big Dog himself and there was a group of guys that went guided off onto the harder trails. Like you said It's a good spot to hold a group meet, just make sure they don't start adding stuff on at the gate. Also make sure you guys all get the same group campsite so you can decide your quiet hours. We ended up with a group next to us that was loud as hell all night long. I watch the thread so if I remember anything else that's helpful I'll let you know.

 

I'm going to try and make the spring fling at the end of June. It's $65 + $40 for camping. Hopefully I'll have my "real" lift on by then. I'll pay $105 for a weekend of wheel'in and camping.

I havent, but if they donid be interested in going. Im only about 45 minutes or so from cabwaylingo. Actually my fanily used to rent the barracks and the pool for an entrie week for famaily reunion.

 

I'm only an hour 20 from there. I drive that far just to kayak for the day lol
