WEST VIRGINIA TACOMAS

A bit OFF TOPIC, but I apologize in advance. So I was in WV this weekend, to visit my bro in law. I didn't take the Taco, took the CX7 for the long drive.

I have to say I saw some nice Tacos on the way down and on the way up, as well as one or two nice one in town as well. I was in Hurrica/Teays Valley if anyone on here is from there.

 

Thinking about taking some trails soon...Anyone been through the Canaan Loop road or the Blackwater Canyon road in Canaan Valley?

 

I was thru the loop road abt 3 years ago. The road was totally doable stock but I totally and completely striped my truck with the overhanging brush. As of last fall they still hadn't trimmed it past table rock

It's a shame they don't keep it cut back anymore....might make a good project.....id be down for it anyway

I haven't been thru canyon rim road in at least 5 yrs. the brush wasn't bad but the creek crossings were getting nasty for a stock rig. The bear hunters may have fixed it up by now tho....

 

@tylerb2011 have u been over the road that connects the top of stalnaker run road with the (ex) concrete bridge at lower cheat? I think it's called bell mt road. That thing is gnarly lol (at least for a stock rig)

I wasnt there, but im just about 1:30 from teays valley, hurricane area. Which way did you come in to it, from the north or south?

 

From the north. We come in from Morgantown and head down into Teays Valley. Takes about 10 hours from CT, including stopping once or twice for gas.

 

I noticed that after i posted it. I live in the southern part of the state.

 

All good. I really like it down there. At least as far as the people go. Being Portuguese I'm used to people being friendly. Up here in the north people are DICKS. Down there they are all super nice. I don't give a shit what people say/think about WV, I love it.

 

That is something about our state, we are friendly. Next time your coming down this way if you want let me know, and maybe i can head that way and we grab a few drinks or some food or something. Always like meeting new people and always down to drink a couple.

 

Sounds good. Maybe I'll bring thw Tacoma as well. I actually already drove it down once, before I discovered TW, and I really enjoyed the way it drove on the long trip. And the gas mileage wasn't that bad either.
