    Absolute pain to install.

-Powder company had tape on the hanging studs and it baked into the threads with the powder. Probably my fault.

-Fabricator included an entirely wrong hardware packet. I still don’t have my front skid on because I’m missing hardware. Luckily my sister can get it all for me at her fastener supply company, but still. What a mess.

LP6s go on this week if I get my act together. Need to order a winch now, too. Winter is coming, and I’ll be ready to rescue myself on access roads if need be

Are any trails on the Hatfield-McCoy Trail System open to full-size vehicles or are they only for ATVs and Side-by-Sides?

I've been on 2 different trail systems (Buffalo Mountain and I forget the other) and I'm pretty sure they only allow motorcycles, quads and SxS atv's.

    Anybody have a trailer?

I just moved and i’m trying to figure out do i get a regular trailer tag or a permanent trailer tag.

Its a 5x10 aluminum trailer with a wood deck 2500-3000lb weight capacity with the upgraded axle.

I have 3 trailers. One is a 8.5x16 enclosed car hauler I have a permanent tag on. One is a 4x8 Harbor Freight trailer for towing motorcycles and the other is a kayak trailer. I've never bothered with tags, etc on the moto or the kayak trailer. Never been pulled over with them either. Moto trailer has around 30k miles on it. I think I read somewhere small trailers don't need tagged, but I can't recall if that was NC or WV.

Nice trailer, btw. I've wanted to get an aluminum 5x8 trailer from Northern Tool, but they're always sold out.

Thanks! I’ll look into it a little more. The guy at the inspection place I took my bike to said that the trailer is large enough that I should just put a regular trailer tag on it and get it inspected. But another guy told me I should just get the permanent tag and then I wont have to worry about inspections. Is it true the permanent tags don't require annual inspections?

This thing has been great and with the price of trailers now, i’m damn glad its paid for. I hate to admit it, but its a Polaris trailer with all the stickers removed because i am NOT a fan of Polaris

Its technically a SXS trailer but it came with a dinky little 1200lb axle under it that failed in under a year. So now it has the heaviest axle i could fit under it which is rated between 2500-3000lbs. Other than that. The gate used to rattle a lot and sheared itself off twice since aluminum has terrible shearing strength. I was able to convince a family friend to make some custom greasable barrel hinges that wouldnt allow the gate to flex and its been fine ever since. I will say, it sucks to haul motorcycles on because of how light it is. Its maybe 700lbs and it bounces like crazy, it always has. So I prefer to throw the bike in the bed even though the truck being lifted makes that a little harder now.

So it looks to me, in WV, all trailers need tags, yearly inspection and insurance, regardless of size, weight or brakes. Seems pretty up tight to me for small trailers without brakes....

    https://www.manchininjurylaw.com/west-virginia-trailer-towing-laws/

In VA, you only need annual trailer inspection if you have brakes. Trailer brakes are required on trailers of 3,000 gross weight or more.

I was able to get a permanent tag for my little utility trailer when I was in Va. I'm constantly surprised how more bureaucratic WV is then VA. I have your standard 2.5" lift/extended travel suspension on my Tacoma and had to get a "special" inspection for lifted trucks. Are you kidding me?

I have an excessive amount of trailers. 5x8 tilt bed, 6x12 and 6x16 landscape, 6x12 enclosed, stock trailer, and boat trailer. They all have permanent tags. Permanent tags cost about the same as 2 years of regular tags. the only downside is they are not transferable? I'm not very good at keeping current inspection stickers on them. I have never been asked for proof of insurance on a trailer.

I’m leaning towards spending the extra for the permanent tag with the more i read about and hear from others
