How did everyone's install go with the drilling? I assume there must be metal to drill vs just epoxy. Standard dill bit to get through? Feel like any loss in frame integrity?

Mine are still stilling in the boxes in a cold garage...maybe I'll get to them by March by this point....

I’ve only done the passenger side so far. It’s only one hole per side, so I doubt it would affect frame integrity, especially since your putting a bolt and more metal on it. It’s 3 layers: the slider, epoxy in the bottom part of the frame, and then the interior metal brace. It’s the last layer you drill thru. I used a step bit. The main thing is drilling the hole so that you can use one of the plates they provide. I was able to use one of the small rectangular ones they provided, but it was a tight fit. I’ll be more careful with the hole I drill on the drivers side, to hopefully maximize the room. I had fun out of the small rectangular plates, but Westcott sent me an additional one when I asked.

Thanks for the follow-up! I don't remember....but was there any plastic cover trimming that needed to be done or is that driver side? I've seen reviews saying that there was trimming needed and others with none needed

The only trimming I needed to do was on the drivers side. There’s a box mid way on the frame where I had to trim the corner.

Oh also, anyone have undercoating? I have woolwax and it's now covered in winter grime, another reason I'm waiting till spring (probably). I plan to wash off the current coat install and recoat. Though I'm also toying with cleaning, recoating then installing so there is some between slider and frame. Not sure if that's better or not.

Made a mistake. The plastic box I trimmed was on the passenger side.

What’s the chance of getting another group buy going on these again? These rock sliders are HOT!

Probably a no go. It was about 15% off. Likely have to wait for a sale or for Black Friday again. They always do 15% off on Black Friday.

Hey All, anyone that install these from the group buy still monitoring this thread?

I installed my Westcott sliders today and they are absolutely beautiful. I have a question for anyone that has them installed. Does your set completely butt up with no space between the back of the slider plates and front of the frame? Mine are tightened up nicely and seem to butt up mostly well but I noticed in the middle it's not exactly butting up with no gap area below (stole a pic from earlier in the thread, will try to get a pic in the morning)

I can’t reinstall the box we had to remove under the passenger side because of the reenforcement plate, did you guys run into this issue, 2021 owners?

The plastic one like in my post a few before this one? If so, it needs to be trimmed.

Interesting. My truck isn’t here with me right now, so I can’t look to compare. I have a ‘21 Sport and don’t remember a problem like that.

Yeah, looks like yours was welded on an angle, mine was straight. I have a bunch of questions out to Westcott. We'll see what they say, I hear there customer service is top notch so I'm sure all will be fine.

I actually didn't even need to cut my plastic box. 2021 Pro here and that area around the passenger box worked out ok

And here was the gap between plate and frame that I was experiencing:

After reinstall everything still lines up....the holes on the bottom and sides. I do get tighter fits where there are their are through bolts....example here

Maybe it's intentional in the middle to not really butt up? Everything else just fits/lines up well enough:

There seems to be very slight gaps various spots on mine too. Just curious that's the goopy stuff?

Thanks for taking a look at yours! The goop is woolwax undercoating. It's like goopy wax that coats the frame to keep salt + moisture away from metal if the paint breaks. Works super well, one winter in Boston and everything practically looks new
