thanks! Already got my tint appointment next Saturday so I’m not driving a fish bowl for too long lol. Then suspension lift and wheels and tires then just drive her!

As promised -- Here is how the kit looks installed.

I still have the OEM TRD Pro UCAs installed. Notice their kit includes the spacers in the spring pack. Quality made, and they make them from aluminum pucks in house with a computerized lathe system. It was fascinating to watch how the machine makes them and then they powder coat them in house.

This was how my truck looked before the kit was installed:

This is afterwards... The Westcott TRD Pro Lift with a rear add-a-leaf, and Westcott 20-degree sliders DOM TIG Powder coated.

Its subtle but a functionally substantial upgrade. I didn't want a Kona lift or anything overly aggressive. One of the key reasons I upgraded from my 2016 TRD-OR to the 2021 TRD Pro was that I wanted the TRD Pro Fox Shocks -- so it was worth saving up for 2 years to get the Westcott upgrade done.

The kit didn't change the personality of the way the truck drives or steers. It is very smooth on the highway and very capable on trail roads. Eventually I will upgrade to Goodyear Duratracks that are 285 wide when my OEM ones wear out.

Make sure that if you install the kit yourself that you've got a good shop you completely trust to do a fresh alignment. That was one of the key factors for me to make the 3 day whirlwind trip to Phoenix and back is to have the guys at Westcott do it professionally, and most importantly, right.

Sam was my sales guy, Frank is the shop foreman, and Jeff is the owner of the company. All three guys are super nice, professional, and provided me some of the best customer service I've ever experienced.

Sliders are the bars that bolt to the frame underneath the doors. They protect the truck from obstacles like rocks while out on the trail. They make them in different shapes and sizes, but I wanted 20-degree ones that tuck up close to the truck.

Another added bonus is that they also stick out just far enough to guard against door dings... but I'm that guy that parks on the edge of the parking lot and walks because I love my truck so much.

Oh and to echo what other people have said... Splurge and get the add-a-leaf in the rear.

Block suspensions chronically sag with much of any weight at all. I have the Decked storage system installed in the bed of my truck and it has probably close to 175-ish pounds of assorted tools in the drawers. So the last thing I wanted was any reduction in load bearing quality or any sag. Plus my mantra is do it right, or don't do it at all.

so what’s the difference between the Westcott preload collar on the bottom and a 1” RC spacer up top? They are both pre loading the coil to lift the truck.

Are those stock tires? 265/70? I’m just curious if I do the Westcott lift and 1.5” add a leaf would it look weird with the stock 265/70’s? I’m gonna run those tires out and eventually put 285/70’s on it.

I’m still running my stock Goodyear tires.
I priced out new Goodyear Duratracs but they’re $300 a pop, so I’m gonna get the full life out of these before investing $1,300 towards new ones.

I ultimately would like to run 285/75/16 on them, but right now I have 265/70/16… As long as I’m running Goodyear tires, I’m happy.

    So, I have to ask.
What is the difference between Westcott and a RC or other preload spacer lift?
I mean, is it because it is magical or is it just because it it higher priced? I see the same thing with people who build a straight pipe and charge $500 then people jump on the bandwagon saying they are the best thing out there when the same thing can be had for a lot less $ without the fan boy bs.

I did a bunch of research before committing to the Westcott lift system. Westcott makes their precollar lifts from raw materials in-house, and they’re engineered specifically to Tacoma specs.

Mine isn’t a fan boy build. I was only willing to install a functional suspension upgrade that would be durable and last for the duration I own my truck, which is going to be 15+ years.

did it give you the actual 3” of lift in the front?

I'm sure there is a ton of info on the forum and plenty of people that can explain it better than me but the preload collar will preload the spring in the same way that adjustable coilovers do (fox, king, icon, etc). The spacers that go on top of the whole coilover like the RC spacer mentioned, move the entire coilover assembly down. again, i will not be the best resource for explaining why one is better than another. Accutune I believe has a really nice video showing the difference between the two and how spacers can change when and where the shocks top/bottom out in relation to the bump stops and full droop, etc.

The reason I personally went with westcott is because I wanted to retain the Fox TRD Pro coilovers. If I had any other trim, I would've gone with a 6112/5160 set up.

can you use the Westcott lift with 5100’s?

    Stock-ish
Wescott lift is just an expensive preload spacer, no different than anything else.
I think its funny how on the website it says "not a spacer lift" when it quite literally is that

I just had Deaver j66 rear springs installed on my 21 TRD OR. Running Bilstein 5100s front & rear. Ordered the Westcott front preload collar lift kit. Will this result in stiffer ride? My mechanic thinks the rough country top only spacer would be better. Appreciate your thoughts & suggestions.

Hey that's my truck shown on the second post from the Westcott website! I had the kit installed and an alignment done by Westcott. Like others have said, they did a great job. Got to meet Jeff the owner who was a cool guy. Truck has had a few changes since then, but I've had zero issues with the suspension after about 1 3/4 years and 20,000 miles.
