Haven't had snow on the ground all winter for more than a day. Nothing but rain here today. Rather saddened by the lack of snow

Just spent 4.5 hours in the tractor snowblowing and then going over that with the push box. Id say 4 inches here, rained most the time I was out very lightly. Basically mist/drizzle now and I'm hoping the weather is just done and will cool off now.

@DrFunker might know but I dont think we've had more than 1 day of snow where it hasn't rained within 24 hours after. It's fucked up.

Yes, it has been about that. We have not had a prolonged stretch of snowpack this year. Each time we get a significant base, it is gone before the next storm can add to it. Really kinda sucky.

Deep freeze is coming. Get that ice smoothed out. :D

I need some of all you Western Mass peeps help. My oldest (16) was doing Scout Camp for his Summer job. He is in 10th Grade at Bay Path Technical School in the welding program. He would love to find some place for the Summer that would maybe hire him to work in that field. I know some of you are Metal Working peeps so do you know of any places near my area that you can maybe help him get into? Any help is greatly appreciated, he loves to work and understands that you can't make anything of yourself sitting at home in the Summer laying on the couch playing video games. Thank guys if you can help.

I can ask around. I know a couple of guys in the local welding union that work with companies all over the state. I'll put out dome feelers...

Not sure what the labor laws/OSHA regs are on minors running a welder at a shop. I know machining they can, but shops have a close eye on them and don't let them do much on their own. I would check on indeed for a family owned shop, they tend to be flexible with co-op kids, or have him talk to his teachers about what shops they have good relations with for co-op. The shop in Nashua I'm going to has welders but not sure what their policy is and what not

Does Bay Path have a co-op work program? At my high school co-op positions were limited to seniors, but they might be able to help him find something for the summer.

Hoedown went well. Not as many people came out as last year, but still pretty good turn out. I guess there was a big annual pasta dinner across the border in NY and group that came last year wasn't able to make it.

Anyways, was a fun time and the people that came out had a blast. Friends of the library made some money as well, not sure how much after paying the band and caller etc...but at least something!

What did everyone do this weekend? Looks like Spring this week with the temps coming.
