I’m keeping this Tacoma until the end . Just turned 150k , 15 years old . All I need right now are rotors and pads soon . You’re about 2 hours away . I have been to MGM once when it first opened . One of these days

Good morning folks! I believe @lynyrd3 and I are up early for turkey hunting. Figured I would take the opportunity to post first!

 

Mmmmm turkey! I'll have some gravy, mashed potatoes, and veggies please

 

I’ve nearly smoked the turkeys walking through my neighborhood a bunch the past few weeks

I've been scarce, working a lot of hours at Home Depot !

Have a few coworkers who drive Tacoma's two girls actually one has a lifted Tacoma and the other has an SR5, and then there's one guy who has a nice Tan Tacoma which is lifted and has larger tires on it too, looks really bad ass.

 

Battered wild turkey nuggets

 

Yup . Had one going on the limb then silence . Sat from just before sunrise until 930 . That’s around 4 hours in one spot ,oh my aching ass .Then did some traveling around the woods and calling . Silence
Anyway I found out where these bastards are hanging out . Less than 100 yards from the road in a small patch of woods that’s about 200 yards from my house . I just watched a massive Tom and hen leave that spot . Creek runs through there also .Makes sense since it’s shady and has water .

 

Always wanted to add hunting to my hobbies list lol. Not that I've got the time nor have a clue as to where to start

 

I’m not sure how old I was when my dad first took me out hunting but by 14 I was duck hunting and deer hunting by myself along with small game hunting . My son shot a deer and a spring turkey all in one year . I think he was 16 ,he never hunted again . Loves venison but will not kill anything after his first kill experience.

 

Nothing for turkeys or gobbles in the first spot and in fact had a mother coyote and her pup come through and the pup started making a TON of noise so they might have intercepted the turkeys we were expecting. Got up around the morning drizzle, drove another area and had nothing. Found a third and final spot that has birds in the very front of a big field. Snuck the edge all the way to back. Sat for 3ish hours and had two bearded fellas and a few hens work all the way around the field. Never made a noise. Think they finally got hung up on our hen decoy when they came up to us. Cut into woods just before our spot in the field. My friend had a shot and hit but might have hit low or back, no down bird unfortunately. I never got a good look at a Jake or Tom. Good size hen sitting right by me and I thought “she must know she’s safe this season” haha. Good hunt overall. My buddy is pissed of course. I learned a lot and enjoyed a morning in the woods. Win win!

 

I was thinking of you and Bill Thursday morning when I had to chase the line of turkeys across the road in front of my house so that the school bus could get through

Slept in this morning. Need a break from turkey hunting . I do most of my hunting during the week when nobody is around . Lot of weekenders around here and some of my spots I need to access are through private property.
