Hey guys, I’m headed to Hancock, MA on Sunday to stay with some friends skiing at Jiminy Peak. But I ain’t skiing!

Anyone interested in meeting up for some wheeling on Monday morning? I found a trail on OnX Offroad— Washington Mtn Rd in Lee, MA.

Washington Mtn was closed for a loooong time after one of the hurricanes wiped it out, even after the rest of the park reopened. My brother and I went through Oct Mtn two winters ago and they seem to close it every winter now.

@SamSpade any other places you see on OnX in that area? I have the day free, not sure I can swing the trip but definitely interested

We could do Ma Bell. That’s right off I-91. Would be great if you could join!

We were talking about leaving here about 9:30 Sunday morning, but it’s probably better to leave earlier.

Call me if you want to make plans. I think you have my cell.

Funny, my OnX doesn’t show it’s closed for the winter. I wonder why.

Ma bell is more fun anyways!

We jus0t did MA bell last weekend. Everything is signed off now on the trail. The town got pissed that people were not following the trail and wanted to shut it down. A local off road group met with them, and gathered funds to buy signs on the trees to not go to certain areas of the trail. The town agreed to it as long as people stick to the signs and not have people go out of bounds. The town will gate it off if people don't follow the rules. If you are going to go there, go during the summer due to the signs being easier to see. We almost missed a bunch them and we had people outside the truck as well. Definitely do not go where you did last time past the top of the hill. The top of the hill is the furthest you can go.

I am with you 100%. Respect for the legitimate concerns of the Town and local people. I’ve done this trail a couple of times, and if there’s any question of where the trail is I will turn around and go back.
    Thanks for the heads up.

Bummer, was looking forward to wheeling with you. I don’t think we’ve met in person? We’re so close, we should grab that coffee we talked about. Next week?

    Let me clarify...
Not saying to go around gates/barriers, or travel illegally on closed roads.
Towns put signage up in the winter season around here due to weather.
Most of these signs say "travel at your own risk".

Well, we did Ma Bell yesterday from 12:30-2pm. It was awesome. Beautiful day. I was surprised no one was there.

Yes, “travel at own risk” is much different than “road closed until 5/1”!
