What exactly is AVL overland 4runners? Is it a company or just a group, this is the first I’ve heard of them. I went to West Henderson and I’m rarely in Asheville maybe once every few months I’ll end up over there for anything. Come summer time if we both can find some free time we oughta ride through Pisgah or I’m really wanting to hit this Hurricane Creek everyone seems to be talking about. I got a buddy I graduated with that has a Tacoma that’s currently going to UNC Asheville that may be down do go also.

They’re an overland group, on instagram. I gotcha, I know a bunch of people from west. I went to Roberson. I meant more of arden, that’s where I live. I try and stay away Asheville, lots of weirdos. Yeah man I’m game! It wouldn’t happen to be Luke Moffitt would it?

No if that’s who I think it is he was a year ahead of me. He’s got a silver DCLB on like a 6 inch and like 20x14s or something right?

@kiahb12, @trdsport6, @Avery Worley, nice to see all of you guys going to school to better yourselves. Way back when I was your guy's ages I hated school so much I couldn't wait to graduate and be done with it..11 months after I graduated I was in San Antonio, TX wondering what the hell did I just sign up for. I did eventually get my equivalent of an Associates degree through the USAF before I retired.

Anyone know of some trails local to Hendersonville? I’ve heard my dad talking about taking his old ‘84 Toyota Pickup to I think he called it Couch mountain when he was in highschool and I heard old highschool math teacher talking about going to the same place when he was younger. I assume that’s been long closed to the public but I did google it and found some videos of some jeeps up there from a few years ago. I’ve rode through Pisgah a little bit going from the Mills River campground side, maybe if I go in from Brevard and get deep into it I can find something a little challenging. Kinda worried about getting lost though.

You shouldn't get lost. If you went from Mills River to Pisgah forest and then took a right the parkway is at the top of the mountain and if you took a left it brings you down to Brevard. Theres just not many places around Hendersonville to go any more since everyone decided to retire here and buy up all the land that we use to enjoy back in the good old days.
You might follow this thread. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/south-carolina-bs-and-gossip-thread.411211/unread. They are pretty active and they probably know of a few trails that are close to us.

Morning everyone, wondering if anyone knows of a shops in Asheville or Hendersonville that will install my rear shocks. Apparently due to liability a lot of shops wont do it. I live in an apt so unable to do it here, finally just gonna break down and pay someone..

I assume they salt the roads heavily up there?

Yes much more so than they used to. When the snow is gone you'd think the road was still covered it's all white. Then there's the brine solution they put down as a prespray

Same here, I would rather them not scrape and let the snow be traction. When I was in Montana they put sand on the roads because the salt is ineffective at colder temperatures. How does your frame look? mine is surprisingly rust free except for the spare tire holder and where the original u-bolts were, and my Allpro expos are the most rusty of all.
