TacomaWorld guys are cooler. I am in both groups and most everyone on here is chill. You get on FB tacoma clubs (TTE) and half those guys don't know a third gen from a ridgeline.

On a side note it is pretty cool running into other tacoma guys, I have had them holler at me at red lights and have conversations between lights. It's awesome

Just stumbled upon this thread (hi from spruce pine just btw)
But if you haven’t found someone for this try contacting asheville vehicle outfitters. They specialize in Tacoma’s and overland stuff in general.. I’ve never had them do anything but they seem knowledgeable.

They have open houses and trail rides they post about on Instagram and they’re an ARB dealer.. I’ve been curious to check the place out sometime. It’d be cool if they were a vendor in here.

Headstrongs website showed I should get 2.75 in the front on my Aclb but if it’s more that would be cool. I just went with a single leaf aal in the rear tho.

    Hello from Winston-Salem

I have only spoken with them on the phone but they are very nice and seem to know their stuff. Their shops rates were a bit on the expensive side for me when pricing out an install on an OME lift.

Eric at Asheville Vehicle Outfitters is a great guy. Met me early on his day of (New Years Day actually) to help me install my RTT. And gave me a great deal on it to boot.

Yes I believe AC gets 2.75 from what I read. I read a ton here before pulling the trigger on the top spacers for my DC. I wanted to make sure I wasn’t fiddling with it too much. Just got my tires mounted and alignment. I’m happy with it. It’s a little high in back, but I’m sure with weight, and time it’ll settle a bit.

Is that custom cut vinyl on your hood? I need something like that to kill the glare.

Anyone on here pull a camper across Sam’s Gap on I-26 (TN/NC state line) with your Tacoma? Say a camper around 3000lb-3500lb dry weight. How did the truck do pulling? I figure if I could pull one across Sam’s Gap, I could pull it anywhere we wanted to go.

    Thanks!

I did it with my Jeep (rated for significantly less payload capacity) and it worked out just fine. It was a uhaul enclosed trailer packed to the brim pulling it through the gorge on the east of black mountain

My business partner has a trdor 4Runner and it pulls our 22’ boat just fine. My guess is you’re good

I pulled my 20 ft all steel car hauler home from coeburn across sams gap and it done fine.. also regularly pull a loaded 6x12 cargo trailer across iron mountain which I would consider worse and does just fine.

Do you have trailer brakes? If not and you have a tow package the harness is already under the dash. I bought a tekonsha p3 from e trailer with an adapter harness and it made it plug and play.

I’m sure the camper we buy will, just not bought one yet. The P3 is in my Amazon cart right now, I think I saw the plug under the dash a while back when I was working on lights. The truck also came with the adapter, but the one on Amazon is plug and play.
