Any PA people using fluid film to undercoat your truck? I have been reading in other threads people doing 2x/year or somewhere close to that. I have also read others say they don't recommend fluid film.

Any thoughts on products? Frequency? I have zero experience with this, but want to avoid as much rust as possible. Plan on keeping this truck for awhile.

I had mine done Jan 2016 with krown right after I got my truck just before the new year.

I see it as every little thing you can do helps, especially now that PA is using the liquid brine to salt the roads.

I plan on getting it redone probably next year (2 years apart) since the last couple winters have been pretty mild.

I'd like to see if rhino lining the frames or having anodes like they have on ships would help with corrosion.

Some guy on here uses Thompsons Water Seal to protect his. That would be ideal because of the way apply it. I would be concerned what it may do to rubber...

I was thinking about doing this same thing. Do you just use the spray can? Any prep other than a cleaning?

I bought a kit with the undercoating gun, I use the gun on everything underneath, the spray cans with the flexible 360 head on/in the rockers, and doors......pressure washer in early spring is only prep I use, other than that, I spray it all liberally and let it go.....

Heres a good place to get the fluid film......kellsportproducts.com

Heres a good write up on the procedures....https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/how-to-fluid-film-your-3rd-gen.455241/

Hasn't even been a bad winter, but seeing any salt on the underside keeps me pulling the hose out. As soon as I got my truck, I did go underside and paint all exposed steel spots that didn't have any coating at all. Definitely thinking about doing this

To me , its worth every penny, especially if you are going to keep this truck for more than a few years, I plan on running this one til I can't anymore.

LoL, never thought about it like that......it kinda is.... Did mine in November, first thing I did to my new truck, it is still wet and has not lost any lubricity to the touch......its good stuff, I would recommend it to anyone that wants to protect their underside of their vehicles.

Ok, finally got all my mods done.... for now anyhow, I would like to personally thank Corey @moe2o4 for the freaking awesome write ups he has done on this site, with out his detailed instructions, I doubt I could of figured it all out, and Greg Hall @Greg Hall for working with me on the sale of his stock fog lights and bezels, although I couldn't find any deals on wheels or tires around the Pittsburgh area, I did find a hell of a deal 5 hours away in Cincinnati Ohio from Ebay on the TRD OR wheels and tires set. With that, thanks to all on here who continue to contribute to this site and its members. So far I have on this truck done about all I really want to do, the next thing for me is to just enjoy it now, until something else catches my eye......oh yeah...my wallet hates me....alot. Have a great weekend gentlemen!20170216_170544.jpg 20170215_112226.jpg 20170215_112234.jpg 20170215_112216.jpg 20170215_112144.jpg

What's going on I live in Washington pa and recently traded in my 2015 TRD sport 6 speed short bed, and I have a set of black level 8 mk6 wheels with cooper atp 265/70/17 with 75% tread and a set of gloss nfab 3 in tube steps for a 4 door 5ft bed I need to get rid of. I'd sell it all for 600$ just to get them out of my tiny garage. This is the best pic I can find of them on my truck. Email is best its rif4trbo@hotmail.com

Hi there, thought I'd jump in. 2012 green access cab w/5-speed, really like it.
    And original 16" steelies :bananadance:

I'm looking for take-off alloys/tires if anyone has anything interesting they're selling. Ideally targeting gunmetal 16/17's for mostly highway use.

Also would like to at some point swap the regular stereo head unit for a touchscreen ideally with GPS.

Live in the city (south side) and am enjoying this site.
