I have no option but to park my 2019 TRD OR at a slant = I get a little water in the doors when it rains. Some folks on here say that’s normal. OK. I’m planning to replace the front door speakers and add damping. I’ve seen a few scattered comments about this but nothing definitive. Experience? Advice?

I don't own a third gen but I have never had water on the insides of my cab, even in fording deeper water. Something doesn't seem right here.

water will always get inside of door panels. they're designed for it. that's what the plastic moisture barrier is for.

as for sound dampening material, just make sure you use good quality product, and i would clean the metal surface very good before install. use some rubbing alcohol on a rag or similar. just want to make sure the material has a good surface to stick to

Water in the door, NOT the cab. Yes, I thought water in the door was normal.

About the damping...good and dry so it will stick, but does it hold water after the fact? Also, what about moisture damaging the speaker?

the material will not hold water. it is a rubber material so no worries there. even the foam layers you can buy are closed-cell foam so they're not absorbent either. for the speakers, they will not get damaged in nearly all scenarios. manufacturers know that they will get damp/wet and they build them accordingly

Also you should get the foam speaker cups to keep the water from dripping onto the speaker magnets. I ruined one speaker because of water dripping down. Make sure you cut out the bottom half of the foam cup though, or else they will just sound like garbage... hot hot garbage.

EDIT: I should say that the water that got into my speaker froze and ruined the coil... not a huge issue if you dont have sub zero temps.
