Damn, never taken me more than 30 seconds from start to finish and I have never used a mirror or cream. Just a bar of what ever soap I wash my ass with when I am in the shower and the cheapest throw away razor they got on sale.

Gonna watch this to see what this is all about!

    Ouch!! That sounds painful.

I don’t have any fancy setup like these guys but I use a feather shavette with feather blades. Some proraso shave cream then proraso aftershave, and keihls fuel lotion after.

Sometimes it is. But the shave feels great after. When I’m in a hurry I’ll use the regular Gillette razor blade and canned shaving cream.

Not at all. About like scarping your face with a business card.

All the ritual of shaving with all the creams and lotions really sounds like a pain in the ass to me. No offense to folks that like it but sounds like primping. But take my comments with a grain of salt, I dont even own a comb or brush.

Does anyone know of any places that you could buy some blades locally? I'm trying to find what blade works best for me, and would rather not buy a multi pack they sell online if I could just find a 5 pack of blades somewhere. That way I'm not stuck with a bunch of left-over blades I won't use. I'm just not sure where to look. I've tried Astra green blades, but they're pulling a bit so I want to try Feather Hi-Stainless.

I've been using a Henson safety razor for the past few years and like it a lot. Previously I used a Merkur 34c. Lather up with Mitchell's Wool Fat Soap. Astra blades for now but I think I'll try Feathers next.

Most drug stores have the King C Gillette blades. Besides that I couldn't tell ya. Maybe a barber shop or barber supply store nearby?

    minor tweaks
Exactly what I do, the fact that you're in the shower and everything is hot and the whiskers are soft means I get the closest shave compared with the other methods I've used (4 blade razor). Being clean shaven I don't need to even use a mirror, it's fast and simple.

No can do. Alas, after all these years I haven't broken the habit of taking Navy showers.

rotated tires changed oil threw out the old air freshener.
I shave in the shower. Out door shower all summer long!

Gillette Trac-3 and Kirck's castille bar soap. (since 1839, Made in America)

I'm not fussy, just make sure those blades are sharp and the water is hot

    y’all need better hobbies :D

don’t mean to be critical so much as perplexed. I don’t understand why shaving has become such a “thing”. I feel like it’s just a big marketing success compounded by hipster influencers. Just use a sharp razor and shave. What’s next. Fussing over exfoliating mitts and keeping fancy hairbrushes in a backlit display cabinet?

I guess I get it if you’re appreciating the craftsmanship of a nice razor like I appreciate a high-end knife or hand tool but it’s just a bit beyond my comprehension.

    Stay smooth brothers.
