wetsand it, but with less than 1500, try 2000 2200, something like that, then buff, 1500 is still gonna leave a hazy clearcoat that a buffer wont take out

We polished it this morning using CSI polish and pads and got the finish as good as raskal311 wanted it (the closer to perfect you want it, the more clear you take off). We protected the paint with CSI Q-7 Wax when we were done.

We did no wetsanding and never would in this type of situation.

I have decent 'before' pictures in the sun, but it got pretty cloudy when it was time for the after pictures. I'm hoping raskal311 will get some good shoots maybe tomorrow when the sun comes out again.

Here are a few pics to give you an idea of what we did:

    Before #1 (plenty of sun)

    After #1 (no sun)

Gary at PolishandWas.com pretty much got all of the scratches out of my truck with just a simple polish and wax. The truck looks amazing now; I honestly think it looks better then the day I picked it up at the dealer.

Gary thank you and Tom for taking the time to show me what a great product can do.

After pictures in fun socal sun.

One last thing, Gary's camera did not really show how bad the scratches were; the difference is amazing.

Hopefully Gary can post a quick list since I need it as well. I need a full kit to do my wifes SUV, that thing hasn't been detailed for 10 years and we only wash it maybe once a year. It needs a good polish, buff, and wax.

The polishes we used ("D1" for removing scratches and and "D2" to enhance the gloss) are still in the development stage and are not available yet. I apologize for that and will let everyone know when they are available.

If you are on a budget, we sell the Chicago Electric 92623 Buffer. Or, you can get one at Harbor Freight (the current circular has a 40% off coupon in it). We used a Makita 9227C. The Dewalt DW849 is also a good choice, but it is about 25% heavier. We have a great source for those, so PM me if you're interested.
