Also if this is a go ahead, before we depart, we should check for road closures, there is a wet Facebook page, I am not sure if there's any other page with updates

Check the weather. There is sometimes big snow storms

A group of trucks had to return back last year around February 28 because a road was closed.
And if get turned back, then have a backup plan. Some of those guys ended up going to Algonquin

It's a reasonable take and I get it. Though I think most people are intending to go and actually visit the town or the people in it while we'd just be driving back and forth with no actual contact. It's about as far from the populace as possible. That said, I'm not going to fight anybody's wishes or best interests - if it's not in the cards, so be it. I can't even confirm I'd be going anyway.

    Yeah, I get it.

And we should care more than usual about these communities since we know if shit hits the fan, they won't have the same resources or support other communities have, for whatever reasons.
Look at the case about "Highway of Tears“. If it was about white people, it would be a national and international scandal.

OK so this trip is cancelled and I'm disappointed :)that no one has come up with an alternative like
driving to the Sault and spending the night at the Glenview cottages then exploring the area around the tribag mine and then camp night two in the wilderness then drive out on the 3rd day and return home.. I wish someone would.comenup with a plan like that.:)
psssst. Just kidding we would literally freeze like tacoma Popsicles:)

I put some smiley faces in this to let everyone know I'm just kidding......I'm not disappointed....
    :)

I might go to Quebec soon, and don't mind to go again in February or March.
There is several gravel roads, some as long as 300km, north of Ottawa, etc..

Yeah, I would probably avoid February... Risk of frostbite...

I will touch base on the first week of January.
And maybe plan for a 4 or 5 day adventure.

What was the timing you had in mind for the wetum one? 4 days?
