    Hello everyone,

I had some bilstein 5100s built up on stock springs and I have a feeling my guy (paid in beer…) missed a washer when he built them up. They seem good to go but over every little bump (washboard or speed bump, anything) there is a definite looseness feeling; a kind of rattle. It feels off. Any guesses as to what the problem is? Thanks in advance.

    Ben

Sound comes from both front springs ? Or just one?

    Post more information and pictures.

Are you sure the looseness isn’t the beer’s effect on you?

I paid my auto mechanic in beer! Ha ha Maybe I just need a beer though! It seems like a knocking or rattle (loose) when I hit a bump of any size. Pictures won’t matter because everything looks perfect.

Check the top of both front shocks. Sounds like the center top nut might be slightly loose on both sides.

You need to post pictures of the front suspension if you want actual advice. With no pictures, we are just guessing and will/can do all day. Will it be helpful, nope!

Got it fixed. Took them apart and there was a washer missing. All good now. I paid myself in beer.

Was it one of the center washers on top of the shocks? Sounds like I was semi-correct lol
