Yawn. God I’m old and practical these days. 236HP out of the v6 seems like plenty to me.

Now, now. I’ve been told many times on this forum that 22 mpg is doable with full armor and load range E mud tires.

I even think the v6 has a nice sound under load.

But on a more serious note: whether it’s 15mpg@ 236HP or 15 mpg @ 350HP Is irrelevant (to me). YMMV.

Unfortunately this forum isn't well resourced for engine swaps. Most guys on here don't know how to do most basic maintenance let alone swap an engine. I'd join an LS engine forum and check out the free episodes of Engine Masters on YouTube with Steve Dulcich and David Frieburger where real resources will be available.

Youre right but still... I guess its not a straight forward thing either because the swap could be done cheaper but wouldnt run very well. If I win the lottery I know what I'm doing lol

Red herring - this guy swapped for that much with his resources and skill set. Can not generalize to people without those same resources or required skills - I never implied that either. You guys missed the thread I linked where I was saying a small amount isn't what people can typically swap an LS for so please read that.

Alright I'm now saying if you fail to properly educate yourself, the guys saying don't bother hit the nail on the head. An LS forum has way more information than TW. Honestly many people swap engines in our country. Just look around for those places they talk online.

You guys all seem like rather than get to build something you bs around about it instead.

Not me. I like making things happen. Squabbling over an OP's question being a good one for you or anyone else makes google searches and forum searches difficult to find useful facts.

For the full thing, I'm talking engine, gears, transmission, etc, etc looking around $6,000 sometimes you can get a steal like finding a donor truck. The price does vary but I'll probably say the average is 6,000. You can usually find the ls engine around for $1,200 used of course and then the rest of the part's price depends on your choice. There are many different ls engines to choose from as well. I would do a swap just because if you want real power and if you don't care for the reliability it's the best option. Also, make sure it's professionally done don't have it be your first-time engine swapping.

I would upgrade the suspension and brakes before you get into swapping. You can get away without but I think brakes and suspension come first before anything.
