lol I'm actually on here far too much. For the most part, you don't see too much bashing of other people's mods, unless it's an absolute tragedy. This thread just gave people an outlet to vent some feelings.

I knew people had some disdain for the pro grille and raptor lights, but man, I'm a little surprised I'm out here annoying people with my factory installed tonneau cover. lol

Pretty sure that people have been modding their rides since the first Model A came off Henry Ford's assembly line! Some mods are functional, some are for looks only, and some are for folks who just like to pose. Nothing wrong with any of those reasons I guess. What's for certain is all this crap we buy for our rides keeps a lot of small businesses in business and food on their table. Having said all that, buy American made if you can!

Anything considered overlanding gear. The annoying part is wondering why the suspension rides like crap and can't offroad well when it has 2000lbs in addition weight.

Haha true. It’s a fun thread if you don’t take yourself or things too seriously. Shouldn’t be personal just teasing each other about our mods. Though I will admit being accused of being “broke” for not having a certain mod although personal was fun too lol! Bring it on! :D

RTT's, clevis hooks hanging off of 4+ locations on the vehicle, and Raptor lights.

RTT's....enough has been said. Clevis hooks...because it is apparently such a huge hassle to stow them in the bag with winch remote, gloves, snatch block, etc. Better to have them rattling around on the bumper than take up 30 cubic inches of storage space in a bag I suppose.

But the #1 silliness that has me shaking my head, and which I haven't seen in this thread, is the "I've got a winch" hook strap "look at me flag".

    jeep-front-stubby-winch-bumper_11826a-redjl_2.jpg

Yeah, yeah, I know....it's a "safety device". But seriously, if one can't spool in a winch line, land a hook, and snug things up without pinchin' their digits, not only should they not be operating a winch, but they might also want to stay away from other hazardous items like scissors, hot stoves, butter knives, etc. Just one guys opinion...:D But, were safety a "real" concern, I suppose a 2' length of rope that could be looped through and easily removed would be at least as useful and give more grip to hang onto, though sadly not as visible when cruisin' the boulevard.

If we're talking about the same thing, rain guards are super useful. If it is raining, cracking open your window a bit allows fresh air flow to avoid fogging up the window, there by not having to turn on the defogger which also turns on the AC. In the PNW, you can also leave your windows open a bit and not wake up to a soggy seat.

And this thread has officially killed off every MOD anyone will ever want to do with their truck.

I guess we should start buying Ridgelines now.

Dang. First time Tacoma owner coming from an F-150...I didn't know the unwritten rules...lol. I have a TRD lift, so pro grille (w/3 year warranty) and I put raptor lights in. So I asked Jimmy if this was okay, and he said yes (Jimmy crack corn and I don't care). Ha! To each their own. Now I'm definitely leaving in the raptor lights just to make people happy.
