What’s the most annoying “popular” mod

I bought a TRD Pro replica grill that came with "Raptor lights" preinstalled last week. Was going to remove the lights before installing the grille because I'm indifferent to them. But after seeing all the irrational hate, and bogus claims of raptor-envy, I may have to keep them.

I don't have TRD pro (heritage) grill yet but I plan to get it. Now I want the raptor lights because of how many people seem to be bugged by it.

 

And this is why the thread is awesome. I 100% support getting something just bc others get annoyed by a truck that isn’t theirs. Bravo.

I don’t have one but I assumed the Pro Grille is on so many trucks because the chrome cheese grater is just so awful lol. I never thought it was someone attempting to look like a Pro, just getting the best looking plug&play grille that wasn’t the cheese grater chrome.

Now if someone owns an SR5 and trades their badges / stickers with a Pro, I’d probably laugh. Wouldn’t get annoyed, but there’s nothing wrong with a 2WD. Own it and ditch the 4WD badges / stickers

Yeah, Ive modded my truck. Yeah some of its cosmetic. Some isnt. Ive never been one to have their car/truck look like everyone else on the road.

Folks complaining about modding a truck on a website that wouldn't be nearly as popular if the Tacoma aftermarket was non-existent is one of my biggest gripes.

Guess what, Friday im getting some different vinyl applied. take that you buncha whiners. lol

 

The smallest wheel and tire package from the Raptor probably wouldn't fit a stock Tacoma with out rubbing.

 

The wheels with the little chrome rivets on black that every tacoma in every tacoma facebook group has installed.

I just snipped these photos in like 5 mins of scrolling FB.

 

Everything about this Tacoma is annoying.

I just figured there were enough grown men complaining about other folks' trucks I should complain about my own.

The most annoying "mod" is all the "mod"ifications toyota has had to do to it since I owned it.

We're talking, on average, 27 days a year in the shop over the past 3 years. I just wish Toyota could get it right from the factory.

 

I have and appreciate the oem heritage grill but I agree on the raptor lights. They were only fitted to the raptor out of dot requirements and our trucks definitely don’t meet those requirements. I don’t despise them just think they are a bit cheesy.

 

I wanted a 3/4 ton or 1 ton because I like the cab lights.

I think the raptor has rear clearance lights, I know there are two on the rear corners below the taillights. I can't recall if there are three in the middle under the tailgate, or if the third brake light illumination mimics the three marker lights.

I know MESO's 3rd brake light for the Tacoma gives that effect.

I don't see many rear Raptor light setups on any vehicle with forward facing Raptor lights.

 

Pretty sure the top right one is actual bead lockers. I could be wrong. At least, that's where the design came from. When I got rims, I made sure they were simple and easy to clean. I've had that style before (from a previous owner) and I was not fond of cleaning them.

Are you familiar with PEBKAC? I wonder what the acronym would be for a vehicle.

Agreed. I stopped caring what people thought about me when I was in Jr High.

 

Never enjoyed this style of grills. Like at all. Love classic Toyota script grills but these do not sit right with me.

I have ran grill lights even before the Raptor came out, when you live where it's foggy, damp, drissley for 9 months of the year it makes you more visible to others running extra amber lights
