I recently picked up some Milestar Patagonias and really like them. Good sizes. Light weight compared to other brands. Aggressive looking but just as quiet as an AT.

Here’s a pic. Don’t mind the raw cut line on the fender. That was fixed shortly after. :)

Personal opinion, I wouldn’t go with “new, up & coming, etc” for tires. Maybe start with a quality manufacturer like general, cooper, Goodyear, etc

Tires have got to be one of the most underrated “performance” items. You’re literally putting everything on em.

If you’re trying to save a buck, there are a lot of OEM take offs for sale. Just my two cents.

As far as past tire experience, for trucks/suvs I’ve been the most impressed with General Grabbers. Our Tacoma currently has Duratracs, although they’ve been durable off road, they tend to wear unevenly and are noticeably louder than my past sets of grabbers (on my jeep). Once this set wears I’m most likely going to try a different brand/category.

If you have 17 inch wheels, I picked up 5 KO2 285s C load 51 lbs for $900 cdn off a guy who bought a Rubicon and swapped to 37s right away. Great way to save some bucks.

Nokian have been available in the States for quite a while. I had a set of their Hakkapeliittas on a 2000 Sentra.
Granted they were imported back then, rather than being manufactured in the States.

I recently did a lot of research before replacing my Toyo AT2's. Sumitomo came up on my radar, I think they are worth looking at. I also had a great experience with Hankook in the past. At the end of the day, I went with Cooper AT3's because they are 1 of 3 tires I could find in 265/75R16 available in LT-C. The Hankooks and Sumitomos were available in SL or LT-E in my size.

In my opinion, Nokian makes a great snow tire. They ought to know how considering they're based in Finland.

I had a set of Nokian Rotiivas on my F-150 and wasn't terribly thrilled with the longevity. Same size is 1, so YMMV.

After 25 year of buying tires, I've more or less wrapped my head around Nokian for winter and Michelin for summer. It's not worth skimping on tires.

Nokian has indeed been around a while and well established in the European market. However, they are “relatively”new in US market. Especially compared to manufacturers like Goodyear & Michelin who have been present in US market since the 1880’s.

You would have been hard pressed to get your hands on a nokian tire in US prior to this millennium.

Those nokian's look great. may be my next summer tire. i want something more aggressive than michelin at's but not overly aggressive. the outposts fit the bill. already have nokian winters and they're great.

After running Nokian winters on my truck, I decided to try an all-weather set on my wife's Impreza. Over 2 years, they have been a great tire in every condition they run in... she has BFG winters. I am a firm believer in dedicated winter tires.

Sailun Terramax A/T were the best all weather tire I've ran to date. I drove on it for 6 years on my prior vehicle (2WD Mazda B3000) that took my through college in Calgary, up the highways to Fort Mac to visit my parents no matter the weather along with 15'000kms of towing minimum 4500lbs. When I sold the truck last year the tires still had 60% of it's tread after 80'000kms of driving total. Only area I found they sucked in was -40*C concrete up steep hills. Highly recommend if you're looking for cheap but above average

Patriot Renegade R/T have been our best selling economy tire for the last year at the shop. I haven't personally ran them but the guys that do say they're as good as a Duratrac, but silent and with longer/ better tread life

Leveled with Bilstein 5100 shocks, Kumho AT52 265/75 tires, Redline hood struts, R4T tailgate lock, Matt Gecko LED strips in bed and under hood, WeatherTech hood guard, OEM bed mat, Husky floor mats, Carhart seat covers, Grille replacement with Toyota letters, Sony AX6000 replacement head unit, OTT lite/mild tune, and an occasional splash of fuel additive.
I ventured out and bought Kuhmo AT52s. Can’t tell you for sure how good, but quiet ride. Winter weather coming soon. I’ll know in a year or so whether I made a good choice. I think you can choose either P and LT.
