    Noisy or noisier?

Noisy for a "road" tire or noisy for an AT?

Factory lift kit. Lomax tri fold Tonneau.
Bought Geolanders ,put on about 10,000 miles on them. They are actually pretty decent tires, handled cold and snow quite well without getting stiff, they are not great on the hard pack icy stuff, really good in rain. Rode well, for a AT tire not that noisy, I would get them again. Recommend for street, gravel road and mild off road use, I would not recommend for hard off road use.

Ok I’ve been reading on how everyones tires are quite. I personally think when a lifted truck passes me up you can hear the tires roar. I think it’s pretty cool. But what’s the downside of them being loud? I’d like to know?

For me, the drone and possible vibration gets old quick for my daily commute. I'm old -ish.

I like those Hankooks! Both Hankook and Kumhos
i have Kumho AT52s. I could have gotten any tire I wanted, I chose these. Great choice so far. If I get 40,000 miles that will match what I got on my old set of KO2s. Name brands, popular or not mean absolutely nothing too me!

Hearing, vibration, and I owned Coopers ONCE... on an Expedition... and whatever model those A/Ts were would track the grooves in the highway... pull the vehicle toward where the groove was heading.

I had many sets of Yoko A/T G015s on a 2014 Outback until they got too expensive. Great on-road handling and very quiet. Offroad, they went many places in the unpaved N. Georgia mountains they probably should not have.

Time to order Mickey Baja Boss A/Ts for my pretty stock "manual" 2018 Offroad. Given I get 20mpg+, I'm a fan of the lower weight SL [vs LT] as I go from an Eldorado that's a 37-pound P265/70R16s to a larger and heavier 41-pound P265/75R16s 116T Mickey.

I just got same (buy 2 get 2 plus $80 rebate didn’t hurt) as I was looking when deal struck from local tire shop. I’m impressed so far. Traction pad and tire ratings looked good enough for me to go for it. My last shoes were Nitto Terra Grappler G2s and Wrangler (OR) before that and Firestone (SR5) before that.

Will roll the 15,000 mark soon. I believe this is one very good tire. I’ll be purchasing them again no doubt. Holds up and performs incredibly well on the trails, streets.

I can see this tire going 45,000-50,000 miles with what I do. No other tire I have had has reached that goal. Noise is not bad at all. And the best part was the price.

So... I'm forgoing the Mickey's for the Hankooks for price... $847+Tax for 4 tires and an alignment at Mavis... must talk to shop. Hankook AT2 Xtreme P265/75R16s (aka SLs) will replace more off-road P265/70R16s.

    I'll know road noise quickly.

70>75 and tread change impact to MPG will take a minute. I'm also due for an oil change so, I'll do that and a tank of corn-free fuel to see max MPG.

70>75 odometer impact... does anyone know what the MPH is and/or (2) if it's possible to tell the truck's computer to adjust without buying something? I know it is going to say I'm driving slower.

Tread impact in GA mud holes... concerns me because I had a bad surprise where I only measured the middle of mud hole... yet it dropped off after the middle. 4L ATC saved my arse after I started taking on water. <insert "sport faux hood scoop" = $1k tow crack here > Grassy Gap RD, Dahlonega, GA.

Finally, tread life... It will take me 18 months to know if I can do better than 50K miles with these 70K tires.

The tire noise is insignificant from the drivers point of view IMHO. My brain is habituated to its sound, or lack of to be honest. Alls I hear is the sweet 3.5L doing its thing. Their technology (blocks) for road noise cancellation is the real deal.

Still enjoying my pizza cutter Wildpeak AT3's (Just missed out on AT4's), but really wish Duratracs came out with a 33" pizza cutter. They were my fav tire of all time, and worked great in all conditions, especially winter.

Here are my Hankook Dynapro AT2 Xtreme at approximately 20k miles. Still look good and drive great. I'm hoping that Tire Rack will get enough reviews for them to conduct their own video review of the tire.

COMMUNITY QUESTION: Looking for technical response to "what's the change in MPH and MPG with the change from P265/70R16 to 265/75R16?" Any chance the truck has a setting I can update?

    300mi Review: So nice on-road I'm concerned about off-road.

    2018 Taco Off-Road w/ Manual Transmission (MT)

    - Upsizing to 265/75R16 from 70 Eldorado ATs... passenger, not LT for both
    - 42 PSI over as-installed 36 (51 max)
    - 1.35" truck height increase over worn, not bald, P265/70R16s @ 40 PSI.
    - Very plush... even over concrete bridge gaps.
    - Responsive... quick lane change.
    - Very quiet... now hear the rain deflector wind noise.
    - Slight high-speed hum in rear right at about 55-60MPH when giving gas.
    - No gas mileage change. The MT already has a bigger rear end gear ratio than the AT.
    - A little extra rolling resistance getting started.
    - Much less rolling resistance once in motion... manual transmission feedback.

    42 PSI over 36...
    - Removed known low-speed, tight turn squeal. Eg. Parking.
    - Greatly reduced high-speed hum from rear.
    - No impact to ride comfort.
    - 51 PSI max.

    Have yet to test...
    - rain / hydroplaning... ... I should take it to the AMP track here in Dawsonville.
    - Dry stopping.
    - Aired-down off-road, such as the Level 2 behind Amicalola.
