What’s the small module in front of radiator?

    Basically what it says on the tin; curious as to what the small module is attached to the vertical support in between the radiator and grill on the second gens. Two wires (one purple, one gray) go to it, running alongside the horn wire before it splits off. Can’t seem to find the name of it googling around.

    Oh, I may have found it. It’s the ambient temperature sensor. Now that I’m in this rabbit hole, what does this do? I don’t have a tempature display in my ‘15 truck, or auto climate control.

    Just like wiring harnesses, plugs, switch blanks etc....they include the temp sensor & wiring regardless of trim level. It's just easier (read: cheaper) to make them all as much the same as reasonably possible.

    ....but if you upgrade your rear view mirror to one that displays temp you have a sensor and connection already there to use.
