Check the clearance between your sway bar and lower spring seat. ;) I put a set of 2nd gen 5100's on the bottom notch with 888 coils on mine and get an occasional rub there.

Pull the tire off and test it.

I had the same noise on my 2nd gen when my exhaust heat shield was falling off, it was hanging on by one bolt, part of the shield rotted away.

4Runner Trail wheels and Toyo Open Country ATII tires 265-70-17. Cosmetic stuff like Pro grille and OffRoad black bumper trim, vinyl delete on side, added hood graphic, OEM tube steps.
Too tinny for a sway bar. Shield of some sort. Buy a rubber mallet from Home Depot and bang on the tire/frame/exhaust until you find it. It'll be easy.

the only thing that could've been touched when installing the 5100's that would make a similar noise is the backing plate. did you leave any tools or loose bolts /nuts lying or wedged on the knuckle near backing plate? I agree it does sound like and exhaust shield though. Its also possible its something unrelated to what you just worked on

Just found a full 30 rack in there. Got the beer smell out but unfortunately it was unrelated to the rattling noise.

Bolted above the exhaust.... they look kinda like tin foil pans.
