265/70/R17 on my sport. Or 265/75/R16 on the off road. One size up for me. Stock sport wheels, OEM Mud Flaps and front air dam. No rub at all. Toyo AT3’s. SR & SR5’s will be able to accommodate the same size as the Sport & OR. Huge difference from the stock Firestone Destination LE2’s highway tire.

However, If you went to a aftermarket wheel with a negative offset, greater than -10 you might find the tires will rub a bit.

Nope. No prob to make that switch for the SR5. That’s the stock size for the TRD OR and PRO.

I was thinking about 265/75s but thought they’d look too big without a lift. So now considering the 265/70s

I upgraded my SR5 stock tires to LT Coopers 265/75/16 and they look great, perform great, but the MPG hit is painful. Probably worse for me than most because I also have a GFC, which dropped my highway MPG by 1.5 on the stock tires.

But luckily I work from home so my DD needs are the 2 miles to the grocery store.

My sr5 came with these all season 245/75 16's. The 265/70's put a bit more rubber on the road. I like them better in snow, and on dirt roads. Never gave the firestone all season's a chance, but they just didn't look very aggressive to me for winter use on my roads.

Did you consider 265/75s or you think they’d look too big? Sounds like the 75s hit mpg as gwiz and others have stated.

So it looks like you didn’t need to make any mods (lifts etc) to fit them on the sr5. Good to know. I don’t have mud flaps so that won’t be an issue.

Well the good news is with the 245 tires you get better millage . When I first got my sr5 it was around 20 combo with 24.5 highway.

running BFG km3 265/75r16 now and the millage is 17/21 . Obviously perfect off road tire with no rub

Yeah they fit fine on the stock suspension.
Drove them hundreds of miles off pavement in Death Valley and no rubbing.

Could you post a pic of your sr5 with the 265/70/16s? I’ve seen pics with 265/75/16s but not the 70s. I want to make a visual comparison before I commit.

So does the pic you posted have 265/70/16s or 265/75/16s?

That does look good. I’m trying to get a side by side pic of an sr5 with 265/75/16 vs 265/70/16 to help me decide which to go with.

Are these 265/75 or 70? They look good.

I just want a little bit more of an aggressive grip for off-roading - and a wider looking tire with bigger tread. The 245s are a little thin vs 265s. What I’m struggling with is whether I go with 265/75/16 or 265/70/16. Ive read differing opinions. Some say the 75s look too big without a lift and others say they look good. Before I sink the $, I want to make the right choice.

No one mentioned 255/85/r16 yet, but they fit most stock trucks depending on alignment numbers.
