Corolla for a 60 mile commute just for gas mileage because my old tundra seemed to use so much I thought it might have a hole in the gas tank That only leaked when I was driving it.

My Tacoma is my play toy, I live 1/4 mile from work and walk to work everyday. Use the truck to take me on my backcountry adventures.

From my experience, with any of your choices, you'll end up balancing out on fuel cost if that's mostly what you're looking at. I have 330i with a six speed that could easily get 30 mpg but I've got a heavy foot and usually got around 25 on the highway. And that's running 91 so higher cost. My buddy has an STi, and never gets more than 18 mpg from what I've seen. Another has an Si and even with a heavy foot can get high 20s, again gotta run 91.
I average 20-22 and have seen higher with my stock configuration OR running 87. It helps that it's slow comparitively so I drive it as such.
I don't know anything about miatas.
In the end this is just me rambling about fuel mileage and you'll pick what you want.

Bonus note: that WRX has been thrashed most of its life and is due a turbo and transmission.

my other toys but they don't get dirty that often. 73 and 75 Broncos. They still get more thumbs up than my Tacoma

I own an NA miata and obsess over them enough that I am likely considered an enthusiast...

I would never ever.... EVER.... daily a 90s miata. Especially with the Tacoma sitting there. The Tacoma wins comfort hands down. That being said, when I'm heading to the beach on the weekend, MIATA is always the answer.

Why you tryna daily a little sports car and sit the truck at home? I do the opposite. Tacoma is my daily, little sports car is my toy. Cars are abysmal compared to trucks for daily duty.

I just bought this last week to replace my daily driver (money pit) 2002 Ford Taurus I had. My Yota sits at the house and is hardly driven. Got this 2007 Honda Accord for $5,500 and it only has 88k miles on it. I had my local Honda dealer check it out for me and not a single thing was wrong with it. I think I got a hell of a deal! I just got the windows tinted on it too, pitch black!! (tinted windows not pictured)

    Edit #1: I get 33MPG on this 4 banger too. It's a Honda so it'll last forever.
