I recently acquired a 2010 Taco DC Long bed 4.0 v6 with auto trans. This gas mileage is really bad compared to the 2016 3.5 v6, 6 speed auto DC long bed. Both are sr5’s. My combined mpg on 2010 taco is between 14-16. On 2016 it was around 18 combined. Are the fuel tanks different sizes too? I could get over 350 Miles on 2016 taco and I’m only getting 250 ish from the 2010 taco. Any ideas/insight?

There are sooo many variables to consider. Have you changed plugs, filters, oil (engine and gear boxes), cleaned MAF and TB? Does the truck have stock size tires with hwy tread pattern, or larger than stock/ aggressive tires?

The 2016 is a different engine but when stock, my 2012 was combined 18+ mpg. With all of my mods I still average close to 18 when I'm not driving up mountains or going over 60 in the summer - which is about 30% of the time. I tow a lot, truck is modded and heavy, and I commute to a ski/ mountain resort for work in the winter and summer.

I have a 2007 4X4 DC with 187,000 miles on it. It has been pretty consistent. I have 265/75/16 tires on it and the cap. Other than that it is stock.

On the road I can count on getting 19-21 mpg. I've hit 22 under ideal conditions, and gotten as poor as 16 mpg driving across Kansas in a strong headwind a few years ago.

For most of my daily driving I'm 17ish. I don't do much true city driving. Mostly rural 2 lane roads.

Average mine is 18. When I first got the truck I was getting around 21-22. After I put the falken wildpeaks on it dropped to 18.

I have a 2009 TRD Sport DCSB. I average 20-21 mpg. That is mainly highway at 75 ish. My truck is painfully stock with a tonneau cover.

2010 DCSB with Snugtop, 265x75R16 K02, no lift and I get 12 mpg combined. I replaced the plugs, did standard tune up things. I'm hoping this will improve once winter gas goes away.

I get a combined 17 to 18. If I drive a long while on two lane, I'll get 19. I think I lost an mpg or two when I lifted it. Other than that, I'm bone stock running Michelin defenders, 265-70/16, six speed manual, 2014 access cab TRD OR.

Before any mods I was getting around 18. Probably an issue with plugs, filters, tires/tire pressure, etc.

I get around 15.5 on non-winter 87 gas with 32" MT's, a shell, and a drawer system with camping and climbing gear in the back (around 350 lbs).

Between 16 and 17 mpg city/hwy. long trips on the highway 20 mpg plus. Like everyone else says it depends how you drive.
