Approximately the first 8 miles from summit was in 4 lo with engine braking, next 6 miles second/third gear engine braking. I think the first 14 miles/7,000ft was an average of 16mpg, the next 40 miles/7,000ft is 50/55mph of gradual down hill.

I’m a automatic V6 that rarely goes over 60 (max speed here is 55mph).

Lifetime mpg average is 21mpg. I consistently get 24mpg on a 30 mile drive to and from work.

What island are you on? We are headed out there a few days after Christmas for 10 days. Big Island.

I could probably look up the mountain you referenced, huh? I'll do that.

EDIT - Looked it up. That's where we are going. Spending night one on the left coast, then going to Volcano Nat'l park for 4 nights then back o left coast for the last 5 nights.

Any advice on must do items?

Grabbed a pic sitting in traffic this evening, little better than 21 so far after half a tank of gas.

Filling up at 1/2 tank or waiting until an empty tank can change average ?

2021 DCSB OR with a manual, bone stock including OEM soft tonneau (still unsure that even matters). 3k miles on the odo, 21.3mpg on my last tank per the fuelly app (I'm lazy, but that's the first reading I have), my truck says I got 20.9mpg. I will be tracking the accuracy of the onboard computer until I gain some confidence in the error margin. My goal is to keep it above 20 on average, 50/50 city and highway.

2021 TRD Sport Premium stock and I get between 25-27 mpg
that is 9.9-10.1 liters per 100KM.
    math and conversion is
    10.0 liters = 2.641721 U.S gallons or 2.199969 Canadian gallon
    60 miles/2.641721=22.7 mpg U.S 60 miles/2.199969=27.2739 mpg.
This is achieved with going 50 mph with cruise on.
I wish I could change the setting on my truck to show mph instead kph. If anyone know how that can be then I would be more accurate on my totals.
    Thanks

Most of my 5000 miles have been on trips of about 280 miles back and forth to the Outer Banks of N.C. and Eastern N.C. been making that trip(driving myself) for well over 40 years.
One thing I have noticed is how much a head wind affects my mileage regardless of the vehicle.
Currently I can get 23 with a slight tail wind, 21 ORDC. Heading into a 10-20 mph wind it drops to 20-21 if I take it easy.
Best tank so far was 24.2.
    Worst was 19.0 .
As far a the computer, I have always manually checked mine and on vehicles with bigger than stock tires used a GPS. Stock tires and the computer is always within a gallon.
On work vehicles, which varied by year because of Fleet contracts, regardless of the make, the computer was always close. So I trust it on a stock set up.

I'm only two tanks of gas in on my Taco but the dash says 17.8 mpg and it's been 80% in city driving and one 100+ mile freeway/off roading excursion.

Coming from about 9mpg using 91 octane in my Mustang I'm super happy.

Once your truck gets broken in and you get used to how it drives then it should bump up a little more yet.

Filled twice so far. Both times the dash said 23.3 but the actual was 22.8 highway and dirt road driving.

I'm averaging around 18mpg, city and highway. I have to over take other cars sometimes but usually 17 to 20mpg. 6400 miles, typically drive in manual until I get it tuned.

I always thought that the MT would get better mileage than the AT. Back in my days 69-75 that was the case MT got better mileage.
