    We did, you're right.

But I still stand by one thing I posted; know what you're paying for.

Ain't that the truth, my homeowner's insurance coverage is pretty high on that too in the event that something happens to anyone on my property.

Even though company workers have insurance, I'd hate to be on the hook for say, the dude that fell off my roof for cleaning my solar panels.

Fortunately I have my OSHA10 and I'll watch my cameras to make sure he's not in violation of

You are expecting too much. It is ridiculous you would expect a replacement without even sending back damaged parts. Suck it up, buttercup.

Another thing: You talk about being in customer service yourself, and then how a company can make a lifelong patron. DD deserves zero criticism here, in fact their offer was already beyond generous. If any of my friends told me they finessed a good company like DD to get a replacement like you are attempting to do, I would reconsider if they are the type of person I want to associate with. Good companies are forced to change their already good service because of customers like this. Don't F it up for the rest of us.

Too many trucks and mods to list.. check builds
You do realize if they gave you one without the original in return the flood gates that would open. If they just handed out replacements without wanting returns on the broken ones.. well they wouldn’t be in buisness how would you prove the original was broke? Pictures can’t be trusted alone

the fact they offered to replace it at all because of a collision is insane and speaks volumes of how good they are to deal with

I guess I'm not following here. Is it being implied that a deer was hit and the only damage incurred was to the fog light. I've never hit a deer myself but I've seen plenty of vehicles that have and the damage is usually significant. I can't believe that a Insurance claim isn't being filed, which would include the fog light. It would seem more appropriate to ask DD what the cost of one light would be.

Yes, you are expecting too much.

DD was willing to replace an accident damaged light for you, free of charge, in exchange for you providing said damaged light for "evidence" of the incident. Frankly, this is excellent customer service and far more generous than I would expect from any vendor.

Perhaps they extended this same offer to Bambi and he beat you to it.

    Wow.

    It's all I got.

Sounds like you might belong to the 'I borrowed my way through college for an underwater basket weaving degree and I think the taxpayers should suck it up and fund the gvmt to forgive my debt'.

In the name of customer service of course

Good points all. I agree DD was not at fault in any way. Just the fact that they offer the replacement. But would deny mine due to a technicality. This is why I ask for opinions. As to stopping right then to find the damaged light was not an option. Fam in the truck, Dark on a very dangerous fast-moving narrow shoulder 4 lane. Where speeds of 80 MPH + are common. Went back at day brake when traffic is greatly reduced. And even then had to be very aware of oncoming traffic etc. Understand, if it weren't an obvious, I could do it if I were in the mood situation for DD. I wouldn't even dream of asking or being put off. As I said, I'm a customer care guy myself. And frankly get a lot of biz and referrals due to my willingness to bend the rules a little to do what is right or fair. It's a Barney or Andy thing if you get my meaning. Thanks for the reply. I hope this helps you understand better my grievance.

Hilarious!!! But I worked two jobs to afford what little college I was able to manage. This while helping to support a family of a broken home whose father chased the 20-year-old secretary. Leaving the wife and kids to fin for themselves.

"Basket weaving" Is that really an available major??? Maybe I have a chance after all!!! Read The Post.

Brother, I consider this a valid response. And yes this can happen for sure. And I have no defense except one against your point. I edited my post this morning. As I was being ushered to bed last night while writing the first. Maybe the amended, offering can better make you understand my position. But there's no taking away that your point is valid and most likely the best answer. I confess that my philosophy does adhere to the more difficult case-by-case approach to good customer service.

I think I understand the situation, maybe the missing lamp is not damaged or slightly damaged and could be exchanged…. Obviously y’all looked for it to no avail which in my opinion voids any responsibility from DD to help. Be cool if you could find the light, but until then I’d have to vote for “buy another”.

Well, I guess suing the deer is out of the question.
Did she leave a will? Maybe go after her estate....
