By the same logic, let us know how Toyota responds to your request for a replacement truck.

as others have said, they are more then willing to help out, but with out a part to send it, its opening up to abuse of the system. it sucks, but it is what it is. however, you arnt out 400 bucks, you still have half the light, so you really only need the other one. let us know if you need help getting the other as we can help with that (or any of the other awesome dd dealers here)

Wait, you failed to contact insurance over all that damage but reached out to DD for a replacement light?

Dude, insurance would cover new bumper, light assemblies, wiring if damaged, fender, and whatever else is wrong like your spindle even. It made absolutely zero sense why you would inquire at all with DD holy shit.

That's quite grotesque OP. Would you like to see a pic of the Yule log I passed this morning? Didn't think so. BTW, My pants fit better. :)

Hopefully insurance takes care of you and you stop pestering Diode Dynamics for free lights.

My gas seems to be burning faster than normal; thinking I'll go back to the gas station for a refill cause it shouldn't burn so quickly.

Good question, But not sure where the information of not filing an insurance claim has come from. But for all considered information, of course I filled a claim. And let me say while we have broached the subject. That with a whooping 260K miles and all the work / cash put into my Taco. The decision to keep the truck allowed less than what I would’ve called a stellar financial reimbursement. With this response considered, I believe you have missed the intended point. But thanks for your input, this would have been quite a consideration if it would have applied to the situation I was trying to communicate.

that's why you run a steel bumper

I wouldn't be asking DD for shit I'd be filing an insurance claim and buying one

what makes it interesting is OP claims to own a business
    probably understands what business means

    then looks for free shit

I truly have done a poor job of communicating with this thread. I’ve got answers to every question imaginable except for the most part the one I’ve asked. Lots of speculation and advice not pertaining to my situation. Not anyone’s fault but my own. I never have been very good at making myself understood on paper. But thanks for taking the time. I might say though, that I am the type to go way out of my way to advocate and buy from companies that I deal with that showing above average customer service. I actually do give a $hit. I’m not mad at Diode Dynamics for not comping me a light replacement. I just know the industry and that they can and do if they want to. And maybe I am a little put off that I wasn’t that guy that day.

Dude you are a genius! I will sharpen up my broad heads in this coming season put at least eight or 10 big fat Does in the freezer. Saving me enough money on the grocery bill to fund the purchase of the new LIGHT! See, I knew the answer was out there. Just waiting on your reply my friend. Lol thanks for the laugh.

NICE, I will be deciding on the way I want to proceed pretty soon. I would be interested in a quote for the drivers side replacement or possible some new set all together. Do you deal in other brands as well? Just going off of memory, but I think the set I bought straight from DD was like close to $800 for the set with brackets etc. It’s been a while though and I may be off. Feel free to PM me. And thanks for the offer to help and sensible reply.

All true , especially after the mess I made trying to communicate here. Just wondering if anyone had experience with Diode Dynamics going over and above even when it was against policy. Etc. etc. never meant for it to turn into this $hit show. Have to admit, it’s been quite entertaining though. Lol. Thanks for the input, I like your style.

Well, you see, I’m pretty sure that there is a faction of Diode dynamic employees hid out in the woods near My Home. That implant electronic devices into the ears of deer, causing them to run out into the roadways damaging existing Diode Dynamics lights on passing vehicles. It is also reported that these implants allows the deer to ascertain the difference between all other manufacturers singling out only Diode Dynamics products. This is a black ops way of boosting their sales. The most amazing part of this whole effort is they train the deer to actually pick up the separated, light fixtures from the roadway, and run away with them. Absolutely ensuring the sale of a new set.

I'll put it out there and say OP handled all the critique and criticism regarding all this pretty well, and he reappeared to deal with it. He asked a question, he got quite an ear full of responses and now he'll do whatever he chooses to do with the information. OP did more than I would have done.

    @Pearson

If you can leave here with something positive I'll say this -

Based on the accident photos, it's fortunate that you and your company all escaped unharmed.

Normally that sort of shit spooks someone out and it turns a deer hit into a full blown car crash off the road.

With that said, it was only assumed (wrongly) that you did not file a claim with your insurance since you had inquired with DD; having filed a claim with insurance I would simply expect to have everything covered (as I mentioned, bumper, fender, etc).

Insurance companies/adjusters try to keep as much of the company's money as they can. Why do you think totaled vehicles are rushed to 'finalize' once the value and payout is determined? Many people leave money on the table, whether it's the value of the vehicle, or filing an additional claim for aftermarket parts/accessories, not to mention loss of vehicle and not having transportation.

I don't work in insurance (never have) but I learned a lot from those that owned their own agency having run a car dealership. So much money is left on the table all because customers "didn't know".

So, don't leave money on the table! Get your shit covered, all of it.

Thanks Brother, It is sometimes hard to remember or except that our forum is here for everybody. For me that means LEARNING and sharing what we know to help fellow members enjoy the love of the TACO. To others, its an outlet for pile-ons that have little to do with that intent. My point is, thankfully, its here for us all with in reason no matter how we choose to use it.

So thank you for the support, it is much appreciated. But no need to worry about me, I’m a 59 year old construction manager. There’s not mush I haven’t seen or experienced regarding this sort of exchange. But at the end of the day, it is nice to know that there are others here that feel the same as I do to what ever degree, regarding this most excellent resource we call TW.
