I’m looking to upgrade the JBL head unit in my 2010 DC. Anybody have luck upgrading the JBL and still be able to retain the use of the factory amp and sub?

No- I’m probably going to buy a Tundra in the next year or so, so I’ve pretty much shelved the idea of a new head unit.

What is the install kit on this? Looks nice. Although the hu looks like it might get more glare since it appears to be angled up more.

Thinking of head unit for my 'new' (to me) 2016. Mine started showing software incompatible and dealer wants $1000 for another Entune/Navigation headunit. Not willing to spend that kind of money and have an encore performance next year. So my question - have any of you guys wired in the old microphone to the new head unit?

Also which head unit works with the factory backup camera?

I'm running the following setup and love it:
    Kenwood DMX906S head unit
    Kenwood KDC-PSW8 powered sub
    Polk Audio DB6501 component speakers
    Kilmat sound dampening
Android Auto takes almost all functions you would have to look at and touch you phone to do and makes it all voice accessible.

Alpine ilx-207. I love it. The sound is great. So much better then oem. As well better then "Recuve" garbage. Still working out small bugs but with steering wheel adapter and mic sound. Sure is nice to have navigation without $1k head unit.

No one has answered my question - my 2016 Tacoma has a better navigation than my new (to me) 2021. Carplay to me is not a big deal, I want Navigation on the fly WITHOUT plugging in my phone. I have my 2016's head unit, will it work on my 2021Taco? I use WAZE and don't need the "visuals."

Staplegun your 2016 will not work with your 2021as is, they changed the wiring starting in 2020. Not saying it can’t be done, I think I saw a tread in the audio form where somebody had a cable made and somebody else repinned their cable to match the older radio.
