Hello everyone. I have a year 2000 Tacoma that got stolen last week! I never keep anything of value in the truck but the bastards stole it and riffled through it. The cops found it a couple days later at a park in Seattle.

From talking to the cops I've gathered just how easy to steal these 1st gens are. The little thieft used a shaved key (google it) and it was probably gone in less than 2 minutes.

I just bought a club (mostly as a visual deterrent) and will be installing a fuel cutoff switch in the future. My question is which alarms have people installed in the past that have worked well and are easy to install? I have decent 12v wiring skills. I'm looking for something that can be an alarm, remote entry, and immobizer.

Yeah if you're going for more protection I'd say go all out with a nice system. I don't have much experience, but I do have an avital and the alarm function by itself kinda sucks. Or works, but not as good as I'd like it to. I think it may just be how it was installed. As in the sensors weren't ideally placed(as it was previously installed). Or something. Idk. But wished I had a better system nonetheless.
