Picked up this 3rd gen 4Runner last week and Ive been looking at ordering new suspension. My usual goto (with Tacomas) is leveling kits and a nice set of Bilsteins because its easy. But this 4Runner has me confused because its seems like every kit I've looked at is always higher in the front by 1" My particular truck sits 5/8 lower in the back. So its slightly squatted.
I don't mind its current stance I just want it a little higher so I can put on some bigger tires without it rubbing.
I even went to my local 4Wheelparts and the guy at the counter looked confused when I said it was lower in the back then the front.
So I'm thinking my truck has the reversed problem then the norm? Maybe my springs are shot. I don't know, what are these supposed to sit like stock? Heres how mine sits.

Springs are Likely shot, the back should sit 1-3” higher in the back than the front. I think a good setup for what you say you like is 5100’s all around and a Bilstein spring in the back. @HeadStrong Off-Road sells them

Makes sense, I ended ordering the 2” EMU for the back and Bilsteins all the way around. I’ll probably get it all in this weekend. We’ll see how it looks then! Thanks for the reply.

Common problem for 3rd gens, new springs will fix you right up. Most people who don’t lift install 1999 springs out back because they are 1” taller than older models like yours.

Yeah it leveled out pretty nicely with the springs. Thanks!
