Specifically the black that lines the top of the doors and the passenger dash. Is this plastic or vinyl?

My mom rubbed some coconut oil into the doors to shine them up (which worked really well) but now that it has faded, it left an opaque residue that i can't rub off. I need to clean them but don't want to risk using a detergent because it could harm the material. Any ideas what these are made of, and which products can be used?

I don’t know what there made of, but I always wipe down with just a wet rag then apply 303. So far it seems to work good.

Don't do that. Plastic starts life as petroleum. Other types of petroleum don't always get along with it. Just use the stuff that is sold to shine up your interior.

That's the problem, it's already on there and tacky now. I'v tried normal cleaning clothes but they don't do it. I feel i need some type of soap

Not sure it will work for your Mom's mess, but you might try some 409 in an inconspicuous spot. That stuff has worked great for me for years.

If that doesn't seem to do it, a bit of saddle soap should be safe to try.

To follow up, I'd recommend Klasse interior treatment over 303 any day.

You're going to need a degreaser, I think. To be honest, LA Totally awesome from the dollar store is nice. It's a straight up chemical degreaser. Nothing fancy about it and nothing "extra". What's nice is you can (should) dilute as necessary.

I'd start with something like 50:1 and see where that gets you. If you need stronger, then 30:1. Then 10:1. Etc.

Always do a test spot first, wipe it with a rinse rag, and let it dry. See if your results are worth repeating on the whole thing. When you're done, definitely hit it with something like Aerospace 303 protectant, Wolfgang cockpit trim sealant, Basically any quality interior protectant with UV protection.

YIKES!!! Find a degreaser and then get some solid protection for the dash. Followed by keep your mom away from your truck.
