I think its gonna happen but what a lot of people dont think about is this. If you think about how many people came over to AT&T for the iPhone (a shit load of people) it overwhelmed the network which is why the network is so bad. When the iphone gets released on Verizon i'll bet tons of people are going to switch over from AT&T to Verizon and given Verizons current amount of subscribers plus what the iPhone is gonna produce. There is no way that Verizons network is going to be able to handle the iphones nearly as well as AT&T and since a lot of people will be switching from AT&T that will free up a ton of bandwidth on the network and make it way better.

I believe Verizon's network wont be able to handle it, also on the Verizon network you cant make a call and do anything data related

    Soon....
I know a guy that works for AT&T that told me that AT&T is working very hard right now to boost their network and get over the iPhone-surge problems. They're going to be opening a ton of towers in Alabama soon, and they are working to increase the bandwidth to handle the smartphone traffic. Who knows, if the iPhone comes to Verizon and everybody jumps ship on AT&T, I might switch to them because of the improved network and avoid the problems that Verizon will face.

ok guys. help me understand this. Are all these problems with the iPhones for the newest ones that came out (iPhone 4)? Or for all of them? I dont pay attention that much to this kind of stuff.

iPad is out soon for Verizon by the end of this year. I don't see why the iPhone will not. Just not sure when though...

I love my droid x, best phone out there IMO. The only thing that makes Iphone more appealing to some is the availability of after market accessories, ie docking stations, etc.

I don't think it will. Verizon has spent a ton of money advertising droid as the competition for iPhone. Why spend all that money if they're just going to sell the iPhone as well?

because they didn't have it at the time of the campaign. Even if they knew they would get it in a year or two they would still have bashed it to push droid sales.

Considering, this would be my first 'data' phone - I think the iphone (according to some people I know who have it) is user friendly and has shit-tons of stuff to do with it. They love the thing. I like the fact that it'll be compatible with my ipod stuff. I could sell one of my ipods.

If the iphone doesn't come out by July of next year...I'll definately look into something else. I gotta have a 'big screen' (touch screen) type phone.

I love my droid, but I will run down and get one when available.

This still may happen when pigs fly, even with the news, but look and see what Chris 4x4 has to say about pigs flying...

I have nothing against the iphone. i dont have one because i refuse to ues ATT (btw, their service sucks because of overloaded towers AND lack of towers. customers leaving wont automatically make their service great). having said that, the droid is an awesome alternative, and in some ways better. dont get me wrong, the iphone beats droid phones in some ways too, but they're pretty evenly matched. the iphone interface may or may not be easier to use (it honestly will depend on the person) but i can tell you from personal experience, that the droid is about as easy as a phone gets. the original droid didn't even come with an instruction or operator manual. basically, everything works by tapping or holding an icon. not trying to persuade you one way or another (obviously i dont benefit either way) but i just wanted to make sure the android OS was not misrepresented.

No problem at all. If the iphone does come out in January and its a big flop (problematic), I won't go that rounte anyway. It all depends. My husband wants an iphone also.... but again, if they can't stack up....it'll be a no go.

i wouldn't say they cant stack up. i'm not entirely sure the problems they've been having with the reception is the phone or if its the network or a combo of both. they're pretty badass (especially the super retarded high def screen). i was just saying to give both of them a test drive at the store. i dont think either one is better in general, some just better suited to different people.
