I am about to order some custom kings and need to know the length of a coilover to get, compression length, and extended length with a 2" lower rod. I cant find any specs on the kings available but I have the option to get the setup cheaper in pieces.

I believe they should be 8" strokes. someone correct me if I'm wrong. Spring Rates varies, but I think they are 650# or 700#. Valving I'm not too sure on either.

If you go with the eyelet to eyelet coilovers you're going to need a top plate mount. And I'm, pretty sure they don't have that 2 in lower piece on those coilovers.

Edit: I think the ext travel version is around 10".

why are you getting custom ones? just tell them your truck and they will take care of you...why are you making it harder than it has to be?

    just a couple comfort items.
You better double check the 10" travel shock. If a replacement Icon shock is 8" I know that the extended travel is not 2" longer. you may see 10" travel at the spindle but not shock stroke.

yeah, there is no way a 10" coilover is gonna fit on a stock susp.

    why order "custom" kings?

the OE replacment shock is what you want. it made specificaly for the tacoma

also, the OE shocks are not the same as an 8" coilover.

    the OE's are smaller

in these pics you can kinda see how much smaller the OE shock is complared to the 8" LT shock. not the best pics for comparison but you get an idea...

I have to ask too.....what is the need for a "custom ordered" shock? Let us know and maybe we can help you out.

I know someone who can get king shocks for cheap but i would have to get separate coils. I dont know if i can get the OEM setup because it has a spring. I am giving him the product number so I will find out if I can but if not then I will have to buy only the shock. The spring rate is #550 lb I believe.. correct me if im wrong
