How does this help the OP tell the difference at the stoplight?

    It doesn’t.

Just like every other thread on this forum, it kind of torpedoed into off-topic discussions...

so, you can put them back onto the road after being submerged? Here in Canada, we can't. Can only be used for parts but never put back onto the road
For how long was it submerged?

I think it's to early to tell for 3rd gens. My mom's 2017 Rav4 has really thin paint. I feel like throwing a little pebble will cause the paint to rip apart.

yeah, of course, if you don't tell insurance, it's like it never happened :p

Though, aren't you a bit nervous to post about it on here? Do you think there's a chance they may trace it back? You are leaving traces of what happened, after all. I don't mean to be mean, I'm just curious:)

    Tacos are easy.

2nd gen and 3rd gen 4runners have huge changes for motor and interior, but terrible styling change on the outside.

That sucks! In America, some vehicles get a "Certificate of Destruction" or something like it, but I've seen some pretty fucked up vehicles get Rebuildable/Salvage titles and thus can be rebuilt. I guess Canada wants to make sure that dubiously repaired "flood vehicles" don't end up flooding the market...

My trucks previous owner almost fucking died after being rear ended by a drunk driver. My truck now has a new frame, bumper, and tailgate. Looks like it never happened.

Yeah, it's crazy, huh? Totaled does not mean it isn't repairable, but as long as it's done well, I see no problem with it. But of course, there is always idiots or half-assed people doing shady and dubious repairs

yeah, there has been cases of flood damaged vehicles being imported to canada and sold to unsuspecting buyers. Would be stupid to allow flood damaged canadian vehicles to be rebuilt but reject US and foreign flood damaged vehicles. They have to reject them all or not at all

And apparently car theft is such a problem that installation of immobilizers is mandatory in certain cities and provinces?
