Mine is a 4cyl, but just to give you an idea of the break in period. I have 3000+ kms on mine now and still getting better every tank

Had to fill up today... did the math and I'm getting 19.4 mpg with my '06 4.0 PreRunner DC. My drivingis 60/40 city/highway and I usually keep it between 65-70 on the highway due to the high number of cops and troopers we have around here.

I'm dying and last tank around 15. And I have a easy foot. Not complaining but damn! Its a new truck though, just a month. Spent 70 bucks on AFE drop in to help but hope the help comes quick.

AFE Intake, alloy rims, bucket seats,
I did a road trip and averaged 25.18 mpg over 3 tankfuls. I've got a 2008 four-banger with AFE c.a.i. The lowest (first tankful) was 22.44 mpg and the best (last tankful) was 26.9 mpg. The only reasons I can think of for the differences: first tankful was with a bit of city driving and 87 octane: last one was pure highway and 89 octane. I averaged 65 mph and never over 70 mph on the highway. Oh yeah, the best tankful was from 4500 ft. asl to sea level and it was just me and a small suitcase.
Before you call bullshit, know that I live in a city and usually it's only about 22 mpg and I've only used 87 octane. From now on I'm going with at least 89.

Mostly Highway at 70 and I see 21ish most of the time, unless someone angers me and I get heavy on the go pedal.

Keep in under 70 and use cruise control as often as possible. Keep the windows up, or cracked if I want some fresh air and don't use defrost/AC.

my last tank went from 26’450 to 26’758(when i filled up) but the light was not on! it was a little bit more than have way between 1/4 and E.. i put like 15 or 16 gal in. and at 26’801 it is still touching the full line. has move a very little.

thats mixed driving. and some is lead foot driving. i think i could go more than 325 on a tank. if i drove a bit slower and smother. windows down like anytime i was not on interstate. or it was not raining. and AC off. i have ’07 DC SB 4X4 TRD OR, v6 4.0 auto.

I pull 28-31 all summer long. 28 is me driving like an asshole. Normally it's 29 or 30. It drops to 24-25 all winter with LOTS of short trips.
