    Lowest 12.2 (lightweight trailer ~1700# ±200#)

I've got a very detailed spreadsheet going (see my last post) but I need individual tank info (format detailed in my collection thread. I'd be happy to add your data in if you keep tank by tank track of your miles, gallons at fillup , etc.

I have an 08 DC longbed 4x4 4.0L and have just over 5,000 miles on it. I put a 3" lift on it, it now sits just where most trucks sit, it's not that much of a lift. I put larger 285 inch tires, they really aren't that big, about the equivalent to 32's.

I get shitty mileage in this truck. I have kept track of every drop of fuel put into this rig. I fill up the same every time, I drive only a few miles to work every day in the city 35mph. Most tanks have been a mix of highway and city driving. I got between 13.8 to 14.8 mpg for a long time, then I got one tank to go 17mpg, almost all of that tank was in 4 wheel drive driving 40mph on snow and ice, bad conditions.

I now get about 14-15 miles per gallon and even worse (12-13) if it's all city driving. I drive my truck very nice and accelerate slowly and gradually from a stop, I keep it mostly under 2500 RPMs when accelerating and run it well below that. I run 87 octane in it.

I was told the MPG would increase as the truck broke in but I haven't even seen close to what the sticker on the truck said when I bought it. Can someone explain to me why I get the same or worse gas mileage as a full size Ford, Chevy, or Dodge with an engine way bigger than mine?

Only filled up once. Got 19.2 mpg first tank fighting a 30mph headwind when I drove the truck home. Varied the speed a lot. Had 11 miles on it when I left the dealership. 4.0 with a 5sp. auto on a 08 A-cab.

You'd probably getting more like 9 mpg in the city and 18 on the highway with a F150. You will continue to get better mileage. Also, when you changed tire sizes, you probably didn't recalibrate your odo. You are getting a different mileage than you appear to be.

did you have your odometer gear replaced for the larger tires or calculate in the additional distance percentage for the larger tires to get your TRUE distance driven?

I have been kind of unhappy with the MPG on my X-Runner as well. I drive mostly local (city) and for the most part, I drive with a light foot on the gas.
My mileage has varied from 15.8 - 18.3. I only have about 1700 miles on the truck currently so it's still pretty fresh. On my current tank of fuel, I have about 230 miles and the gauge shows about 2 needle widths above 1/4 tank. I may be able to squeeze 325 miles out of this tank overall.

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
i have the stock intake w/ a crappy K&N drop in and the secondary air filter removed, but i have a catback too and my mileage is consistently over 20 on highway and usually around 18 city. thats keeping it under 2k rpm's as well. and thats on a DC 4.0 auto

Is that a pre-runner or 4x4, I wish people would specify when they post their mileage as to what they got that mileage in.

What TLA`s? You ought to try reading DoD speak.
It is no wonder that govt. does not work. I can`t keep up with it. They will change CBR to who knows what now. Shape charges have a new , fancy name that is meaningless. Command detonated mines have a new and less decriptive name.
Pilots need to keep their transmissions brief. But we all need to know what was said.
Pick on the alphabet soup Agencies. I counted 77 last try, and am sure that there are more. These have the power to write CFR`s. Which are treated as law. And they all have gun slingers to enforce them.
    Get your mind around that.

    Gee what?
    Roger your student pilot scenario.
CFII re cert. can kill you too. And a lot faster. I almost found out the stall / spin charactoristics of a PA 28 235 against my will.
CFII was under the hood of his own Cherokee 235.
I took over and pushed it over with full throttle.
