I have a small stainless steel percolator pot that was my grandfathers. Its from the 40's and still works like a charm! It does take a bit to get coffee done, however, the smell of percolating coffee in the morning air is enough to motivate oneself! I grind my beans before the trip and that way its easier to make.

Depending on my trip (Backpacking, Group camping, or Overlanding) I use any of the following.
medaglilla-doro instant espresso (backpacking) fast and simple with no cleanup
AeroPress Go, Delicious and fun, very simple cleanup
Pour Over, very good, easy cleanup

My experience with the Aeropress is that it sucks. If you're looking for a shot of Espresso it might work out for you but generally speaking it's more hassle than it's worth. Just stick with a french press IMO

Big fan of the aeropress for travel. I’ve found it’s all about the grind and letting it sit longer, make concentrate and then dilute, or drink it like jet fuel like me.
Paired with the jetboil it’s great.

I do pour-over, French, and Aero Press.

If my son is with me, we need two large coffee. So pour-over.
    https://www.amazon.com/Melitta-640476-Pour-Over-Coffee-Porcelain/dp/B000QY9YDY

Preheat the porcelain, pour in boiling water, so it's warmed up before making your coffee. Toss water, now filter full to almost the top with finely ground coffee. Slowly pour water and let it drip. Too many years in Germany, I like dark coffee!

With French Press and Aero Press, they take time!

    French Press:
    Boiling water.
Two scoops of superfine ground coffee scooped into French Press.
    Pour in boiling water.
    Let seep for three minutes.
Stir the top layer of crud, so it settles.
    Wait three minutes.
Now put in the press top and slowly press.

Yep, seven minutes for one 4 oz coffee.

Most mornings, I like to have six double espressos. Great coffee, but it takes time.

Hence pour over for car camping.

Aeropress for bike camping (solo, also good for second breakfast coffee).

Latest home purchase, Gaggia espresso machine. Hmm, I need to modify with a PID controller for better temp control.

Percolator that I bought at a yard sale in the late sixties during my college days...................... but location is just as important as brewing method.

...and if you are not roasting your own you are missing out. A Whirley-Pop popcorn popper and gas burner will get you 95% of what a $3000 roaster does. Ask me how I know... Quality grinder also makes a notable difference. https://www.sweetmarias.com/ is a decent place to source beans.

Old school percolator -- makes good coffee, strong if you want, zero maintenance, zero BS/games which some other coffee makers require

I keep it simple while in the woods. Truck camping or backpacking I prefer to travel light as possible and just boil water and drink Cafe Vienna instant coffee.

Pour over is by far the best combination of quality and ease-of-use.

Clever Dripper is probably the easiest. Just need a jet boil. Bonus points if you buy coffee from me.
