    •Any old pot
    •Bandana
•Rubber band cut from motorcycle innertube

    Smash the beans
    Dump ‘em in the pot
    Add water
    Heat it up
    Let it steep a little
Put the bandanna over the pot
    Secure with rubber band
    Pour

    Wipe out pot w/ bandana
    Snap bandana
    Dun

I have a 100w solar panel and charging station that has ac and ac grounded plugs on it.....doubting there would be issue for it to run a regular coffee maker like the one i use every morning.

Of course, a good ole perculator over campfire frees up the pwr station for other tasks

    and…

    ‘off grid’?

If you’re in North America, and drinking coffee, you are most decidedly not off grid.

It took a small army of people, a bunch of trucks, drums of fuel, road building bulldozers, a shitload of water, electricity, trees, coal, a couple of mines, probably a train or boat and maybe even a f’n donkey in a dugout canoe to get the coffee to you, so you and your life partner can airdrop Instagram pics, over the solar hotspot, while you snuggle in your, sustainably sourced, hemp RTT, living your best life, while overlanding, at the state park, 0:45 from your condo…

    thanks, I feel better now

Exactly. And if we didn’t drink coffee all those third world workers would starve. I guess it’s a fair trade. You see that’s how the world works. You have something I want, I have something you want. We exchange them.

Okay I’ll bite on your trolling. Yes, the process that made the coffee to be enjoyed “off-grid” was on-the-grid really. But, same with everything else you take with you. By your logic, since the Tacoma was made in a factory then no matter what you are doing you’re not off grid.

    My point is:

what’s wrong with… “when you’re outdoors”, “not at home”, “wheelin’” or, oh my god, “camping”

It’s a loaded phrase that has found it’s way into the lexicon. It’s stupid.

I’ll give you that. Off grid does sound kinda stupid unless you’re talking about your cabin in the woods. Although in this use case, maybe OP wanted to remove electrically powered options?

    A bunch of shit...
I use the Areopress and really like it. I'm only making coffee for two though, and my wife and I have very different tastes so different coffee. Its super easy to use, clean, and store.
