    Factory tiedown ring is pretty simple. Any better offerings out there that allow for easy hook up and retrieval in the front? Looking for ideas that can be fabricated or purchased.

    Like, so many.
    You can usually find the tow hook from a TRD OR for sale. At least on 3rd gens, those will bolt right up!

    2012 Tacoma TRD OR, 2007 DC (sold), 2003 TRD OR (sold)
    ARB Bumper, SOS sliders, SOS rear bumper, SOS skid plate. OME Lift. Some other stuff.
    The front tiedown point isn't meant for recovery. It might work in a pinch but I wouldn't go exerting too much force on it.
