    I was listening to Spotify in my truck using the dongle...anyway, it had been a while since I listened to RUSH.

    A band I have seen more times in concert than any other band.

    Of course, I hadn't been to many concerts until after I left my home town of Los Angeles.

    Anyway, I found this compilation video which leads into the hit from Permanent Waves...Spirit of Radio. (The intro songs are fantastic!)

    I love the opening lyrics and it's always stuck in my mind...

    "Begin the day with a friendly voice, a companion unobtrusive" (Such poetry in music).

    Neal Peart was an awesome lyricist. He told a story and Alex Lifeson & Geddy Lee wrote the music.

    There a few really great Rush documentaries; one that really highlighted how Neil brought so much philosophy and mythology to his lyrics, and how he responded to his daughters death with a year long solo motorcycle road trip of I think South America.

    so incredible the symbiosis they created with their relationship to writing music, only nerds!

    Yeah, they were nerds according to KISS.

    The band took a liking to them as an opening act...and Gene Simmons made fun of them because they went back to their dressing rooms instead of going to an open invitation to party with the boys! lol
