    Okay, I heard a song today that triggered my memory of these VH jams. (Mr Roboto/Styx which I did not like)

    I was in Jr High when various VH II songs were played quite a bit on 94.7 KMET & 95.5 KLOS (Stations in SoCal/LA).

    Such a fun time it was!

    I have a great *SLAYER* concert story.

    went to see them on their final tour back in 2018.
    Here’s the bill: Testament, Behemoth, Anthrax, Lamb of God, Slayer.
    In that order.

    It’s an outdoor show(amphitheater), and rain is expected later.
    I get to the show, find a good spot in the pit. Testament is killing it. I love Testament. A guy just a few feet away from me is drunkenly shouting “Slayer!” after every song. He’s got a buddy with him. The buddy catches me looking at the guy, and he gives a friendly sort of nod.

    Testament finishes, “Slayer!”
    Behemoth comes on, “Slayer!”….
    They finish, Anthrax comes on, “Slayyyyeeerrrrer!” the guy is steady pounding beers. And “Slayer” is going from 2 syllables to almost 3, or 4.
    the drunken guy’s buddy gives me a look as if to say, “I’m sorry, he does this a lot. He’s harmless, just a little annoying!”


    Anthrax goes off, Lamb of God comes out and of course….. “Slayyyyyeeerrrrr!”
    At this point, it’s less of an annoyance and more entertaining! I’m checking my time by this guys drunken “Slayer” war cries. Lamb of God is maybe 2 songs into their set and here comes the rain.
    The grassy field were standing on turns into a muddy pit!

    “Slayerrreeerrrrrr!”
    Lamb of God is 7 or 8 songs in, the rain lets off, “Slayyyyyyyyyyyeeeeerrrrr!”

    LoG finishes up, and every is getting ready and excited! Here comes the one and only Slayer!

    The rain is gone. The sun is setting & Slayer’s intro is starting.
    The stage curtains open and we see the massive “Repentless” backdrop. Lights are coming on, you can feel the heat from all of the pyrotechnics that are going to warm us tonight!

    Here they are! Slayer! Finally! They’re walking on stage and taking their positions.

    and….. I feel water splashing on my leg!
    But, it’s not raining!

    I look over to my left, the “Slayer” guy’s spot.
    The area around him has opened up a little bit.
    Is he pissing? No.
    He’s so drunk that he has now fallen asleep, standing up, leaning against his buddy’s shoulder. His beer cup is tilting downward, and it is spilling out onto the muddy ground!
    That is what is hitting my leg.

    I start laughing at this.
    The buddy notices me laughing and nudges his drunken friend, the “Slayer” guy startles awake and hoarsely croaks at the top of his lungs: “sLAYyyyEeeRrrrrr!” And then he falls over into the mud.

    about this time, Slayer is starting their first song.

    was an amazing show, partially due to this incredible memory.

    I, sincerely, enjoy this memory almost as much as seeing Slayer that night.
