I had a cement one on order before they cancelled my order. White was my other color choice so it worked out. If you have a Costco membership try going through them. I’m up in the Bay Area and there still aren’t a lot of deals, but they’re there if you’re willing to look/drive a little. Also, Toyota’s sales fell 36% year over year, so remind the dealers that there’s no one buying right now. They just might hook you up.

Cement is what I was hoping for as well but I didn't mind the white so I decided to strike while the iron was hot. White was probably my 2nd choice - looks good with the black fender trim, bed, wheels, and factory tint.

First time post. I'd like to share the details of my recent purchase of a 2020 SRD V6 Double Cab in Cement and see how I did.

I read through a number of posts and it looks like best way to share is MSRP, OTD price, and any rebates included right? Happy to share how I ended up on the trade too. Is general consensus to go by the "Total Distributor Suggested Retail Price" as MSRP? (i.e. total including distributor installed options)?

    MSRP: $33,290
    OTD: $28,500

Their original final offer, before I left the dealership was $31k OTD + $5,750 on trade (CarMax was at $5,500).

When I came back the next day, was able to settle on $28.5k OTD + $8,200 on my trade ('13 GTI 4Dr White 85k miles)

Am I right to think about this as 14.4% off on the OTD?

Thanks y'all– wish I had come here before buying.

You're limiting your bargaining leverage if you're locked into one color and the dealers know it. Cement is/ was a very popular color and inventory, optioned out the way you want it, is probably low and may not improve for some time given that production has ceased for the foreseeable future. If you were open to buying a more readily available color like white, black or silver you'd have a much better shot at getting the type of deal you're after. If you're set on cement you'll probably have to "significantly" expand your search area.

I'm pretty far north as far as the US goes and during the winter it gets dark at like 4:30 PM. LED headlights was the one thing I wasn't really willing to compromise on when I was shopping, and after taking it out for a spin the other night I'm glad I stuck to my guns there. Much better visibility than on my other vehicles with standard halogen headlights.

Hello, newbie here just signed up. Anyone care to weigh in on this deal for me, Pacific northwest area, loaded Off-road with lots of options. Been going back and forth but I still feel like this isn't a great deal but maybe just ok. Any information would greatly help me out and thanks in advance.

Interest rate at 2.99 is good, 5100 discount seems pretty good too. $600 for "Security Guard" and "Digicut" might be bad if that's not something you're explicitly asking for.
If those are dealer fees of 577.50, plus a $150 doc fee, that seems pretty high.

The interest rate is my rate from a local bank here and it might get as good as 2.79%. I have already said I didn't want the security guard and digicut but they refuse to remove them. The 150 doc fee is standard here so that is an easy ok from my end. The 363 is the new tax we have to pay but the 577 they really won't say what its for and I wouldn't pay it. So far this is the most headway I've gotten but I know its not the best out there. This is after a 4 day back and forth since they are about 140 miles away. Nothing local is what I want and they have less options so I have to drive for it. Suggestions?

Also thank you for the information I appreciate it. Every little bit helps out. Anyone know what the optimum price point would be?

The fees might include registration or other gov fees so ask them to unfold that number and explain it. If those are legit, then your OTD is $40,407 which is 10% off. 10-12% is considered a good deal, but I was able to get 16% so it can be done. (I also got roughly 14-16% off quotes from 5-6+ dealers so it wasn't one desperate dealer). I wouldn't pay for the Value Adds at all, and remember the $1500 is a rebate they will get paid back for so ignore their crocodile tears on that number. That would get you to 11% off.

You mentioned "nothing local is what I want" but I would encourage you to pretend like you don't care that much and are shopping a deal only. Tell every dealer you talk to all you want is best deal. I told them "I don't care about color except I don't want red" even though I knew I personally wanted Cement or Mag Gray more than Black, White or Silver. They magically produced the colors I wanted as opposed to trotting them out like some sort of favor. When they don't know, you remove that power. It's all about Equal Business Stature.

How many other dealers do you have quotes from? If you're willing to drive 140 miles, I'd search dealers within more like 200-300 if you can, even if you have absolutely no plan of going there. Make them go to war, and watch that discount fall from 10 to 11 to 13, 14...

Keep in mind if you're doing a trade, you have additional wiggle room there, but negotiate that only after you've finalized on the OTD if at all possible.

    Good luck!

I just got a 20 SBDC TRD Off-road with Premium Off-road Package and Advanced Tech Package, Carpet Mats, Exhaust Tip, Mudguards, etc (stickers for $44,562) for 38,200 via Costco program. Out the door after 12k in equity and nothing down I was at $31500 I believe all in. Payments at $564 at 1.9%

The payment is right. So the total out the door may be wrong.

Costco member pricing is $1300 off invoice. I negotiated off some of the silly dealer charges and get comfortable given the trade-in on my ZR2 was $2k more than I expected.

I've been looking at pretty much the same thing - 2020 Cement OR DCSB V6 6MT 4x4 with Premium, Adv Tech, and LEDs - and through Costco I got quoted at around $39.5k. That was a month or so ago before things really hit the fan though. Wondering if they are negotiating lower deals now...

well that is the invoice and you should get $1300 off that. At least that is how my deal came together. And mine is AT which was about $1k more so not sure what you are getting quoted. I’ll pull my deal sheet out tomorrow.

They are giving you an 8% discount before the rebate. Not a stellar deal, but it's OK. If you can get the 'Savings' line up another $800 or so, that would be a 10% discount before rebate.
My recommendation? Try for a little more of a discount, but, if this is the EXACT truck you want, color, options, etc, I would grab it. If you are flexible on the color or options, wait for a better deal.
