That and when you buy a 19 near the end of a year right before a mid gen refresh you are going to get a better deal because they want them gone before the new ones show up because they will be harder to move.

My old truck lasted two days and it’s gone now. Premium/Tech with a manual is harder to find so I knew it would let last.

I'm in GA, but bought the truck in TN. They had 1.9 for 72 as well, but it couldn't be combined with the customer cash rebate. I compared the cost of forgoing the rebate and getting the 1.9 interest vs taking the rebate and going 2.79. In the end it was cheaper to take the rebate and the 2.79.

Yep, I tell people this all the time, run an amortization calc prior to stepping into the dealer or on your phone while sitting there with the 2 scenarios. The finance guy is gonna try to get you to do whatever is best for him, confuse you with all the numbers.

Yeah, I basically had all of my options calculated and knew what the payments would be, total amount paid, and the interest charged and went from there. I did that prior to going to pick up the truck. The dealership, to their credit, was totally cool with working off the price and not a payment. Never discussed the payment amount until I was in finance and I was within $1 of the actual payment based on my numbers.

Most dealerships wanted to talk payments and I had a couple that told me the standard rate was over 5%. One told me I would have to finance at that rate through them or lose some of the incentives on the truck. Never would clarify any of that and the price on the truck was terrible to begin with. I did notice that stuff like that happened more with SET dealers than those I talked to in VA and TN.

It was in PA, here in NC it was 500. When they redid offers this last time they upped 250. I’ll take it.

I was as shocked as you lol. That's mostly interstate at 70-80mph, though there was a fair amount of idle time while we ate lunch and we got caught in a traffic jam coming home. The computer was showing right around 20mpg most of the way, but I told my wife it was probably off by at least 1-1.5 mpgs. After I got gas, I hand calculated it and it matched the computer and what I put in Fuelly. My 2017 TRD OR averaged 17.9, so I figured this one might be around 18.5. I hope that wasn't a fluke. The computer is currently showing 19.7 with about a 50/50 mix of hwy/city.

I'll be happy either way. I was averaging 14mpg in the Tundra that I traded lol.

I’m not sure what the pricing is up north, but here in Central Texas I ended up Approx 18% discount on a TRD OR double cab 3 weeks ago. Another fellow Austinite got an even better deal a couple of weeks later from the same dealer. MRSP $39,950, paid $32,520, before TTL and doc fees. $18,000 diff on trade of 2015 Canyon SLE 2wd w/ 100,000 miles.

15% prior to rebate, little over 18% w/to get there is a great price and they definitely lost somewhere, I bet they got him/her somewhere in that deal, whether its fees, interest rate, etc.

I took the $1500 rebate instead of the financing deal. It was one or the other, but not both.

Yep, well aware at 12 tacos in ;) I was referring to the other members deal you mentioned, I'm guessing it was also the rebate and what I mean by financing is they have play in the APR and can make money in the deal from the bank/TFS if they get you to take a higher rate, etc. I think we already discussed your deal awhile back and know you didnt get hosed / did your homework for that killer deal.
