This too and of course income, etc., but the nice thing about TFS is they will treat you right next go around, been a long time customer and always have no issues when it comes time for the next truck.

I have an essential job thankfully so they shouldn't be too worried. I've had dealers try pushing 4+% apr saying how I was a first time buyer and only one line of credit

And they might be right or they're trying to make some money off the financing piece, hard to say, I had well established credit my first time with TFS.

Looking for some pricing help on a new 2020 Dbl Cab TRD OR 6' bed, MSRP 38,943 in WA state. Advertised price is 34,793 with all the rebates. I can pay cash or take the 0%, doesn't matter, I just want the lowest possible price on the truck. I see folks talking about 15% off MSRP before rebates, etc.

What is reasonable for me to try to negotiate on this? I'm open to colors and there seems to be a fair number of these around the Seattle area to talk to different dealerships.

15% off would be $33,100 - which seems impossible before the rebate (1750) plus 0%. What is reasonable to try to push for around here?

Where are you seeing folks talking 15% off before rebates? Sorry thats not the norm and doesnt really happen, that would be way below invoice and all of dealer holdback, they would being losing money on the truck at that point. Now WITH rebates 15% is achievable as they are not losing that money since this is supplemented through TFS. I also think you are confused on the way the rebates and special APR work, you can't do both, either or. So the truck you mentioned already has the rebate factored into it so you would not get the special 0%. What would be reasonable would be shooting for 15% WITH the rebate or 12% without the rebate. Given the truck you quoted that would look like the $33100 if you took the rebate or $34850 without. Dealer is probaly going to not even respond if you offer try to get them at $33100 plus the rebate, which you sort of alluded to with saying seems impossible, because it pretty much is, not saying there are weird outliers out there, good luck.

SET really annoys me with that. The dealers try to stick to their normal prices and those incentives are just extra profit for them. It's difficult to get them to admit that there are incentives available and then almost all of them refuse to tell you what the dollar amount is. Our local dealer said there were incentives and that that's why they could discount the truck ALMOST 10%. They also acted like they were doing me a favor by offering the payoff amount for my trade, which was below KBB value.

I bought my truck outside of SET and got 13.5% off MSRP with the rebate and they gave me well above KBB on my trade. The whole process just seemed easier and less stressful. Worth the 5 hour drive, in my opinion.

Thanks for clearing this up, I couldn't follow some of the deals that people were describing, which is why I needed to dial in what was reasonable. I wasn't sure about the 0% as that seemed like maybe a double dip, which isn't normal I understand but these are not normal times. Sounds like I have a place to start now.

No worries dude! Yep even in these times the 15% with rebate is gonna take some work as the dealer is still selling it at/below invoice but its achievable, prior to this the norm was closer to 10% off MSRP and anything better than that was a great deal. I wouldn't get fixated on the 15% either, lots of guys with the rebate are getting deals closer to 13% with the rebate factored in, gonna be dependant on your region, the dealer, etc. I'd run an amorization calc on both scenarios too may be better to take the 0% instead, depending on your situation.

Just made my appointment to pick up my first ever Tacoma on Friday. 2020 SR5 V6 DCSB 4x4 in Cement. I've posted my deal here previously, but obviously that's just what we've agreed to so far. With the quarantine, I've had to wait 2 months to get this deal done. I'm really hoping they don't try changing the deal or anything when we get there. I just want to buy the truck for the agreed upon price with the agreed upon fees.

My best two offers, both are TRD Sport 4x4 DCSB Manual. Oregon dealer MSRP is $36,832; and OTD is $31.4k. Nebraska dealer is $37,722 MSRP; and they're OTD $31,500. Neither includes TTL since I'm from out of state. Unless the OR dealer comes back around $30.5k or so - I'm booking a flight to NE.

I take it both of those are including the rebate. Nice, both are right at 15% the NE one is slightly better, guessing there's some port add ons built into that one. Safe travels.

Correct; both include the rebate. Thank you; will be a long boring trip except when I'm in the mountains.

Darn, I've been looking for a Cement OR with Premium OR package and tech package but it's slim picking in the Southern California area. One dealer wanted sticker price for theirs.

Was just reading this the other day, there is an extreme shortage of trucks as people are still buying them, most dealers have less than 30 day inventory, gonna make it harder to wheel and deal on the more sought after configs. Good luck!

If you're willing to go to OR to pick one up; it seemed like prices in OR were quite a bit lower across the board compared to SoCal. Let me know if you want the dealer I was talking to. Their last offer to me was $5k off MSRP.
