Kendall in Eugene gave me the best offer of any dealers that had OR access cabs in stock. Pederson in Boise said they would match any other dealer's offer. It was easier for me to fly from SF to Eugene so I went with Kendall.

Thats true, but toyota dealers will do special ordering for a customer interested in a certain model with certain options and colors. I went to a few dealers, and they told me so, just that it seems its a pita for them. Said it takes about 4-6 weeks to get the truck if willing to wait. On another note you'll always get a better deal buying off a dealers lot.

When will the 2021's start being produced? Or have some already been made? I guess I have never paid attention to when production of one model year stops and the next begins? Fall?

That's an interesting question. I wonder if Toyota will just start producing 2021s when production opens back up later this month.

Right, we need to start our "speculation" thread on 2021 Tacoma. We had enough time to "chew" 2020 model during the quarantine:rofl:

I guess it will depend on how many parts have been produced and if there are any changes in 2021.

Did Kendall charge you any tax on your purchase or did they waive it since the truck was going to be registered in CA? Just curious how the tax works for an out of state buyer as I'm also in CA.

Well, not surprisingly, the truck I ordered (loaded Cement OR 6MT) had its build date pushed back again. It was pushed back already to 5/5 and now they are saying 7/8 at least. Starting to push into 2021 territory at that point. Other than the strange Trail Edition, was there going to be any updates in 2021 that we know of?

I know it is definitely a first world problem, but hard seeing these great incentives and not knowing if I'll be able to take advantage of them. I suppose I should be glad I'm in a position where I can still afford to get a new truck, given the current situation many people are in, but I'll be sad if I end up missing out on saving close to $2K.

I’m flying up NorCal tomorrow to pick mine up but I’ve read that the owners manual says to avoid driving at constant speeds for an extended time during the break in period. What are y’all planning to do for the drive back? Sorry if this is the wrong thread for this question.

The idea is not to just sit in the exact same rev range the entire time. DO NOT just put it in cruise and let it drone at the same speed/rpm for hours. Vary your speeds while you are driving and you can also maybe shift around a bit between 4-5-6 every so often to get a nice variety of RPMs to put the engine through. Might not even be a bad idea to occasionally pull off on an off ramp, come to a complete stop, then go right back on again.

East coast Canada relocating to West coast in a couple of months. I currently drive an 03 TRD Off Road limited, but its more of a toy and looking for something newer to drive out etc. Came across a 3rd gen 2016 TRD Off Road access cab, in great condition, with the only downside of it having 250k kilometres. I can get a really good trade value on my 03 and will end up financing at a rate WELL within my budget with the cost of the truck at 21k CAD.

It feels like the right deal, mechanically and cosmetically the truck is the nicest 3rd gen I've looked at so far in my search, but only thing holding me back atm is the mileage. Carfax came out clean, just so many damn miles on it. At the same time, I figure for that price, if something goes on it, its not really a big deal to replace etc. What do you guys think? Still trying to learn about 3rd gens and how long they last. Any help or input is appreciated.

    Cheers

Very close to what I got in early April in Austin, TX. I was just reading yesterday that truck inventory has been going down rapidly, however, the plants are opening up in mid May.

2020 Pro. 4500 under sticker after beating up the salesman for over a day. I was relentless.

All the dealers by me won't budge on the Pros. Big money off on Sports and Off Roads though. 6500ish by me.

Thanks TacoBuffet and everyone anwering to my question. Looks like I have to find something close to it at a dealer lot. Must be nice living anywhere other than California. Looks like all dealers here in California will not discount more than 6-7% off MSRPS with 0% finance. And especially on a Cement color they want either MSRP or only discounting $1,000. All dealers explaination is with shortage on Tacoma especially TRD (OR) they cannot offer crazy discount. Should I wait for more trucks to release once Factory reopen and hope to get a good disount like 10-11% with 0%. Or do you think 0% will end by than ? What you guys think ? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance to TACOMAWORLD

    My exact situation was...

51800ish sticker plus tax tag fees etc which would have been around $4500. Taxes alone is $3700. I offered $52k out the door and I wanted 2k for my ford f150 with boom value was 500-1200. I'd be lucky to get 2k for it. So $50k out the door and with my transferring the tag from my truck which is a few hundred cheaper than a full new tag in Florida. And any accessory i wanted at dealer cost.

Company car. They pay the monthly bill not me lol. But the quicker its paid off the quicker I can get another.

Florida is just as bad. No cash back incentives from Toyota and the dealers aren’t budging much at all. I am thinking like you and wondering if I need to wait for more inventory or maybe even order one
