Its hard to say exactly how it would play out because there is no precedent for what is happening now. And no one (including me) knows what is going to happen. But my general sense is that the broad public is still not grasping exactly how challenging the probability distribution for the economy is over, say, the next year. And it goes beyond mainstreet: financial markets look overvalued right now under all but the rosiest scenarios going forward.

And I agree with you: when a darker reality becomes apparent to folks, it could be a bad assed day.

Harden your bark, there are storms on the horizon.
Sales are down ~8% compared to this time last year. Not too bad...Tundras down almost 14%. Avalon sales down almost 40% and Yaris almost 70%!

Hey guys I’m new to the forum and I am currently negotiating for an access cab 4 cylinder. Offer is $25,000 + 6.25% and $500 for TTL with rebate or.....$28,000 + 6.25% and $500 TTL at zero interest. Any guidance is much appreciated!

Just picked up a 2020 MG TRD sport, long bed with a manual 6 speed. Got it down to 36 out the door. Bought it on the 30th of April. Figured last day of the quarter and they’re pushing for numbers. Pretty stoked to finally grab a taco!

    ‘20 TRD OR DCLB (Quicksand)
First post after lurking for weeks. I’m already learning so much...

Purchased my new ‘20 Taco TRD OR DCLB a week ago today (yes, bought a Taco on Cinco de Mayo).

    MSRP - $40,198
    Dealer price - $35,100 ($1,750 rebate included)
    Only options were:
    • LED headlights
    • Technology package
    • All-weather floor mats

The dealer markdown was only 8.3% - total discount was just about 12% with the rebate. I couldn’t get them to budge any more, but the TRD OR DCLB proved pretty hard to find in my region (I didn’t want leather). I think my deal was decent, but not stellar.

This is my 5th truck - first truck was a ‘92 Toyota 2x2 Xcab, 5spd w/22RE (when Toyota just had...a truck). Sold it for $5,000, and the guy that bought is still drives it today. After 3 Dodge trucks, I decided to buy another Toyota.

I'm diggin' it so far...already ordered the LED bed light kit and about to order replacement tweeters & speakers.

1st time Tacoma buyer here, been doing the runaround with various local dealers in the SF Bay Area and doing my research for the past month.
Looking to purchase a 2020 Tacoma DC TRD OR in Silver Sky Metallic and take advantage of the 0%/60 months.

Wanted to add to the general consensus that dealers are running the narrative that these are in short supply and are flying off the shelves with the 0%/ or rebate incentives and the time to buy is now b.c. no one knows when production will be starting back up again. I've tried to push for flexibility on msrp but there seems to be little wiggle room.

    Here's my latest quote (attached)

Is this in line with similar offerings that are coming up on the west coast? I don't *need* this vehicle until August, so I'm prepared to hold out for a better deal. Just wary that the financing offer might disappear, as well as the supply of new 2020 Tacomas coming into the states.

Congrats on the new one! I haven’t been on the site in quite a while. But have been working with my local dealer on TRD Pro pricing. They are giving me the run around on not being able to budge on MSRP on the Pro and won’t work with me on the rate either. This will be the 4th taco I’ve gotten through them as well as some other vehicles. Just surprised they are willing to have me go elsewhere. Anyone else deal with this on a Pro deal?

If it were me and I had until August, I'd pass on that deal and keep my fingers crossed the plants open back up by then. You are at 3% off MSRP if you take the 0%. Depending on what interest rate you could get through a credit union/bank, you would probably be money ahead getting more of a percentage off of the MSRP and take the $1750 rebate. This is a good site that calculates the interest you would be paying on the loan to figure out if the 0% at that sale price would be worth it. https://www.amortization-calc.com/ You also might try expanding your search out of the Bay Area. Sacramento isn't that far and a few dealerships like Miata and Folsom Lake have decent inventory last I checked. Also, Oregon seems to be a pretty good place to look.

Thanks!! I think most dealers will start like that. My salesman started with the “well these are very limited and the dealers do not....”. I interrupted him before he could finish the rest and told him “I already know what youre gonna say and that’s not true. You’ve had the truck sitting for 6 weeks. I’ve bought Shelby’s and my Raptor at I voice so just stop” Go to the dealer with a firm stance and no bullshitting, and don’t be afraid to walk. Someone will sell it at the right price. My dealer was actually very good to deal with after the initial contact

I pulled the trigger on a 2020 V4 SR SX Black on Black. Sticker was $28,415 and I got it for $24,000 plus TTL. About 15% off sticker so I am pretty happy with that.
