I’m pretty sure a dealer in any state can make it work. The tax title tags are based off the rate in your home state. Not an issue

If you’re not in a rush, shoot for 12% off MSRP. I was surprised at the 995 doc fee. Apparently Florida has one of the highest average doc fees in the country. While I was reading that though I came across this. It would probably be a longshot but if they didn’t include it in the advertised price then it would technically be illegal apparently. Even if you got them to add that thousand dollars to the discount then you would still only be at 8% off MSRP. I’m guessing you’d like to get a little more off than that. In Southeast Toyota, dealers are only getting $1000 cashback rebate. So it’s a little tougher here in addition to the low supply . https://www.autolist.com/guides/dealer-fees-florida

Out of state is no problem. They mail you the title you assess then pay taxes in your state and all is good. Bought mine in MO and I live in Arkansas

Yeah, I figured it would work out bit like that. I just have to ask my credit union that will likely be financing about 20k of it how they would help close the transaction.

I used my credit union. Once I secured the loan they just gave me a check for the entire amount financed in the dealers name. Transaction was very quick and easy.

Now that production is back in swing, I got my build date set for early July. Sure hope they are able to extend incentives for one more month...

I've been waiting on a Build date for about 23 days. Hopefully it comes soon.

As far as what I paid, all in accept sales tax (since that varies and gets trued up here anyway).
If you include the now $1500 incentive it is 12.5% off of MSRP on a TRD OR with Premium packages, etc.
It is 9% off of MSRP - Incentive.

Cost ‭37,848‬ (all fees and everything but tax)
    MSRP 43,065

I am happy with this pricing, frankly there is no dealers left willing to deal. Likely due to the fact that they have no inventory to move (that I want). I have no doubt with fully stocked lots I could have got one or two dealers to work the pricing down a little longer. But I don't believe there is a lot left to negotiate.

Guess I'll be putting of buying a truck for awhile. Seems all dealers within 5-600 miles of here are now asking full MSRP. You'd have to be an idiot to pay MSRP for a Tacoma. LOL

Mind if I ask when it was "ordered" and what build date you got? I have to be getting close.

Generally throughout this thread in addition to the tax, we’ve not been including the fees so you’re doing even better than that 12% for comparison’s sake. So especially as of late that’s real good! Congrats

I told them I didn’t care what their fees where, give me the total before tax. No extras after the fact. So much easier to compare across several dealerships. I know there is a delivery fee, admin fee whatever in there, but I don’t care as long as they have the best total price.

They even verified their tax rate and the total to the cent out the door. But the tax rate made it impossible to compare, and doesn’t matter anyway because here you settle up at the DMV for your local tax rate anyway.

I used the costco auto program through Red McCombs toyota in San Antonio Texas to reserve a Cement TRD offroad the other day. MSRP at $39,668, discounted down to $34,726. $37,347 out the door.

So Texas, that means no sales tax in there? Or is that income tax you all don’t have?

There is a 6.25 sales tax in texas I think, tax TTL is about 3k. We don't have state income tax.

I think it was back in March, just before everything hit the fan. =/ Trying to remember, but I think originally it was expected in May, then got delayed to June and after the factory shutdown it was delayed even more to early July. After the factory started making trucks again I wasn't sure if they would still be on track for July, but looks like it currently is still sticking to that date, according to my dealer.

So maybe not the best indicator as I put my order in at probably the worst time possible. It's been painful watching these incentives and not being able to jump on them. Hope they hold the $1500 at least into July.

Btw, it is a Cement Off-Road 6MT loaded (Prem, Adv Tech, LED) and no tonneau, so pretty much a unicorn. I don't think I would have had much luck finding it on a dealer's lot, so I ordered it.

You would be surprised. The Tacoma is one of the most wanted Trucks out there. Dealers know that if you wont buy it, someone else will be along that will. I heard Tacoma is about the only truck or even vehicle out there that barely loses value when you drive it off the lot.

I put the order in and deposit down for mine on April 27. Delivery date is June 26. But like he said, that includes factory shut downs which they didn’t know about yet. And it’s also a unicorn type of package which probably made it take longer as well.

Mine is the Gray OR auto with premium and tech package, it was easier to find before this mess. But currently there are non in the US, unless they have a bunch of extra things bolted on. It was already allocated to them by the factory when I put down a deposit, I'm hoping that makes it quicker. No date yet though.

Someone please buy this so I don’t need to hear from my wife on how I bought another new truck. Or....
    Why M/T? You know I can’t drive a M/T!
