The 1 I bought started out at 35k and paid 30k. The other 1 that had the bells and whistles was just over 43k. Think I typed that wrong earlier. Sorry if I did

Here in El Paso you wouldn't had got anything off sticker unless the factory was giving a rebate

I got a nice deal at Kendall as well, I tried to not buy there because there service dept was so slow doing the maintenance on my last truck. The other guys even in Portland couldn't come close. Even the dealer in Salem where Kendall traded for the truck I wanted was way higher and the truck came off their lot.

Anyone know how the Camry market has been affected by all this? Or do you know of a similar thread as this for Camrys? All my Tacoma talk the past 3 months got the wife thinking she wants a new car. She just told me a couple hours ago so I haven’t looked at all.

My buddy at work is picking up a white awd night shade Camry from Kendall with a msrp of 29,800 for 25,200 plus rebate , by far the best pricing from a dealer within 1k miles

This isn’t too bad. Think I can get them to go any lower? They have like five cements.

this was my deal but the rebate was 1500 when I picked it up , you have to save what you can from the dealer

Remember when there were some folks jumping on us because they were convinced that due to the pandemic there would be massive discounts on Tacomas? My view at the time was much more measured -- prices would remain stable, there would be some discounts here and there, but that low inventory and low dealer costs to hold inventory (for a number of reasons) would create a tight market that stabilized prices. I am not bringing this up to say "hey, I was right" but to point out that that is largely what happened. Anyone getting 15 percent off got a great deal and anyone who got over 10 percent off did really well. That was then, this is now.

This article suggests that perhaps the best new buying strategy is to wait until after the Summer when supplies replenish and that it might make sense to stop looking at trucks on the lot and focus on dealers that are willing to share what trucks that they have coming in: "Toyota expects supplies for Tacoma to replenish within a couple months. For right now, however, pickings could be slim at your local Toyota dealer. If you are in the market for a new or pre-owned Toyota Tacoma, my advice is that you check with your local dealers to find what Tacoma trucks they have incoming within the next few weeks and reserve the one you want."

I wanted to pass that along to everyone who is looking now ... in the hopes that it helps you all find the truck that you really want !

    Good luck !

To be fair, it was my first rodeo. I mean the last Tacoma I bought was a 2005. :)
